Tristan Thompson is grieving the sudden loss of his mom, and the Kardashian family are supporting him. Late Friday, January 6, reports indicated Tristan’s mom, Andrea Thompson, died suddenly following a heart attack.
Upon hearing the news, Tristan rushed home, and Khloé was by his side.
TMZ Sports was the first to report the news that Andrea had died.
According to the news outlet, Andrea suffered a heart attack at her home in Toronto on January 5. She was rushed to a hospital, where medical teams were unable to resuscitate her.
'Our sources say Tristan left as soon as he could to be with his family in Toronto,' 'TMZ Sports' reports.
Tristan flew via private jet from Los Angeles to Toronto to be with his family, and his ex, Khloé, was right there by his side.
Khloé was spotted stepping off the private plane with Tristan after it landed in Canada. It didn’t appear that their two kids together — 4-year-old True and their 5-month-old son — made the trip with them.
Reports indicate that Tristan was close with his mom and that she was close to her grandkids.
“Tristan posted a ton of photos with his mom over the years,” TMZ Sports reported. “It's clear they were very close. He also shared photos of Andrea with his kids — including his daughter True.”
In 2019, Tristan shared a Mother’s Day tribute to his mom on Instagram, writing at the time, “Happy Mother’s Day Mommy. I love you soo much. I’m so blessed to have a mother that loves me the way you do and willing to sacrifice everything for her kids.”
In 2017, he shared a similar message for Mother’s Day, writing, “Happy Mother's Day mommy, your hard work and sacrifices that you have made for our family has molded me into the man I am today. You're my rock, my motivation and I am blessed and fortunate to be your son. I love you so much.”
So far Tristan hasn't released a public statement, but the Kardashian family is rallying around him.
Kris Jenner, Khloé’s mom, did share a moving tribute to social media following the death of Andrea, offering her condolences and support while sharing what a good woman Andrea was.
"I am so heartbroken by the sudden passing of Tristan's mom, Andrea," Kris wrote. "My thoughts, prayers and all of my love are with Tristan, Amari, Dishawn and Daniel."
"You were the most amazing, dedicated, devoted, and selfless mom and such a loving, kind, and fabulous grandmother," the momager continued. "What a blessing you were to your family!!! I will miss you Andrea. I will miss your bright spirit and amazing light."
Concluding her post, Kris wrote, "Thank you for always praying for us and lifting us up and encouraging us along the way. Rest in peace beautiful angel ❤️"
