Khloé Kardashian Says She’s ‘Watched Too Much Dateline’ To Let Her Kids Have Sleepovers

So many of us have fond memories of the slumber parties from our childhoods and teenage years, but an increasing number of parents are saying no to sleepovers these days, including Khloé Kardashian. During a new episode of her podcast, Khloé said she won’t ever let her kids sleep over at a friend’s house. Although people can certainly be critical of her parenting decisions, this isn’t one of those times.

Khloé admitted to being ‘very strict.’

While chatting with guest Dana White on her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, Khloé shared that she has a rule against sleepovers for her 7-year-old daughter True and 2-year-old son Tatum.

“I don’t let my kids sleep anywhere,” she said. “I’m very strict about it. Times are different, so I won’t let my daughter, or my son, who’s 2½, but they’re not allowed to have sleepovers just because I’m one of those types of … I just – I think too much. I’ve watched too much Dateline.”

Khloé has always been into true crime, even before she became a mom, and now, it seems she’s applying the lessons she’s learned from documentaries to her own life.

They also aren’t allowed to sleep at their aunts’ houses.

Unfortunately, sleepovers with their family members are also off the table – at least, when it comes to Aunt Kourtney. This came out when Khloé and Kourtney took lie detector tests as part of a video they filmed for Vanity Fair back in 2022.

“Are you ever gonna let True sleep over at my house?” Kourtney asked when it was Khloé’s turn to take the test.

Khloé replied, “Probably not,” later adding, “I don’t think that we have enough time on this show for what the reason is.”

A lot of people agreed with her choice.

When Page Six shared a clip from Khloé’s podcast on Instagram, many commenters chimed in to say they agreed with Khloé’s choice, as strict as it may seem to some.

“We follow that rule 100% as well,” one commenter wrote. Another person shared, “There was three of us and my mother never let us have sleepovers. We thought she was a meanie, but actually she was just trying to keep us safe.”

Khloé’s rule doesn’t mean they’re missing out completely, though.

If you follow Khloé on Instagram, you already know that she often hosts sleepovers at her house with True and her cousins, including Stormi, Chicago, and Dream, so it seems her kiddos will still be able to enjoy slumber parties – just at their own house.

In the end, the only one who can make the right call for her children is Khloé, and she seems confident in this choice.
