Khloé Kardashian Faces Backlash for Her ‘Tone Deaf’ Wardrobe Choice

Talk about a fashion faux pas. Fans are ripping into Khloé Kardashian after she wore a T-shirt featuring her sister Kim Kardashian's viral "work" quote. The mother of two posted the snap on Instagram over the weekend, prompting backlash and commentary from many people about just how hard it is to make ends meet right now.

Khloé posted a photo of herself in the shirt while holding her new baby boy.

The snapshot appears to have been taken in her kitchen and shows her holding her son, Tatum, in one arm as she gazes down at him while showing off her controversial new T-shirt. Kim's face is plastered across the front, along with her infamous "Get your f—ing a– up and work" comment.

It seems as if Khloé was trying to be funny.

Based on her caption — she wrote, "in my best Kim Kim voice" — the 38-year-old likely was gently roasting her sister for the comment that caused so much controversy after it was said. But Khloé's followers didn't seem to feel like they were in on the joke and immediately took the new mom to task over it.

People hopped in the comments and asked Khloé to rethink her shirt.

Critics called Khloé's post everything from "out of touch" to "tone deaf," accusing the reality star of failing to take Kim's advice herself.

"Only she doesn't work — she just rips people off and ruins their lives," one person griped.

"This was not the 'iconic' moment y'all think it was," another person added.

Some even shared their own personal financial struggles.

"Koko, I'm working 2 jobs, 60-plus hours a week, and still barely making it," read one post with more than 660 likes and 30 comments.

Another person pointed out just how much "work" the Kardashians actually had to do to jumpstart their empire. "You all had a little bit of a head start … let's remain humble," the person wrote.

Considering the tremendous backlash around Kim's original comment, it's hard to believe Khloé would think the shirt was a good idea.

Kim gave her controversial advice during a 2022 interview with Variety, though she later claimed the quote was taken out of context. Given how poorly it was received when the interview first dropped, we find it hard to believe Khloé would bring it up right now for any reason other than to tease her sister.

Knowing how much Khloé likes to give a good-natured ribbing, this feels like a joke that fell flat rather than overt support of Kim's original statement. We'll give Khloé the benefit of the doubt — but here's hoping that T-shirt never sees the light of day again.
