And just like that … Samantha is back! Well, sort of. Kim Cattrall is set to return to the small screen as Samantha Jones for the season finale of the second season of And Just Like That. We don't know too much about her appearance, but we can only hope this sets her up for a bigger return in season three.

It sounds like Kim will only have a bit part.
Variety has reported that Kim will once again be stepping into Samantha's designer heels as she appears in the Sex and the City spin-off on HBO. This will mark the 66-year-old's first time on the set of the new series since she and her costars had what appeared to be a massive falling-out before production on the show even began.
This doesn't mean Kim is back for good (or for long).
Unfortunately for Samantha fans, this sounds like more of a cameo rather than a full return to the small screen. Not only does Kim appear in just a single scene, but she apparently didn't film with any of her old SATC costars or series showrunner Michael Patrick King. It seems this may have been intentional to avoid confrontation with everyone she's been feuding with over the years.
Kim will be featured in a long-distance chat.
Rumor has it that Samantha's big moment comes while she's connecting with her former BFF Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Sadly, the two women will not actually be face to face because Samantha now calls London home and Carrie has remained in her beloved New York City. Instead, their talk will take place over the phone.
At this time, there are no plans to bring Kim back for the third season.
We hate to disappoint, but it sounds like we'll only get that one brief visit from Samantha, as Variety reports that there are currently no plans to have Kim return to her role in any future episodes of the show.
That's going to leave a lot of diehard SATC fans saddened, especially because of how much And Just Like That has been panned by critics and audiences alike since its December 2021 debut. (Samantha's absence has been a big disappointment to many.)

We still have a little while to wait until we can reunite with our favorite New York City gals.
The ladies won't return to our screens until June 22, and we won't see Samantha until the 11th and final episode, which means we still have a long time before we get to catch up, however briefly, with the fabulous Ms. Samantha Jones. Hopefully her surprise cameo will be worth the wait!
