Proud Mom Kim Kardashian Celebrates Daughter North West’s First Top 10 Hit

At age 11, North West’s music career is already taking off. On Tuesday, her mom, Kim Kardashian, took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter’s success. North, whom Kim shares with ex-husband Kanye West, appeared on FKA Twigs’ new album, Eusexua, further surprising fans by rapping a few lines in Japanese on the track “Childlike Things.”

The song is technically North’s first top 10 hit.

“Childlike Things” by FKA Twigs and North West ranked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart. This means the song is North’s first top 10 hit.

Kim celebrated the achievement by sharing two posts to her Instagram Stories. One was an X post from @chartdata that read, “North West earns a top 10 hit on a Billboard songs chart this week. ‘Childlike Things’ with FKA twigs debuts at #6 on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart.”

The second post Kim shared was originally posted by Our Generation Music on Instagram. The post included a photo of North with text that read, “North West earns a top 10 hit on a Billboard songs chart.”

Recently, North’s dad Ye posted about the music she’s working on.

In January 2025, Ye shared several photos and videos of North in the studio. The posts have since been deleted. “This little girl made me love music again,” he captioned one of the posts at the time. “She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY.”

In clips that Ye shared on Instagram, North continued to work on new music in the studio and was seen walking into the studio alongside the WRLDFMS Tony Williams. Ye captioned the posts with “Training” and “TRAINING 2.0.”

In 2024, North announced that she’s working on her debut album.

So far, North has collaborated with several artists, including her dad, Ty Dolla $ign, and FKA Twigs. But her own music project is also currently in the works.

When deciding on a name for the forthcoming project, North clearly took inspiration from her father, who has an album titledThe College Dropout. “I’ve been working on an album,” North said at a listening party in 2024. “And it’s called Elementary School Dropout.”

During an interview for Interview magazine in September 2024, Kim Kardashian asked her daughter North what she wants to be when she grows up. North told her mom that she’s already doing a lot of what she dreamed about doing in the future. “I don’t know, because I already do a lot of stuff that I want to be when I grow up,” North said. “I just want to pursue my careers now.”

Kim also asked North what she would call her own clothing line if she were to start one. In response, North told her mom that she does plan on having her own clothing line, and she would call it “North West.”
