The Kardashian family is not new to public discussions about how they look. A recent selfie photo that Kim Kardashian posted to her social media has fans and critics discussing how "different" she looks.
The discussion popped off on a picture celebrating the birthday of one of the newest Kardashian babies, and people aren't practicing the age-old rule of scrolling by if you don't have anything nice to say.
On July 28, Kim shared a sweet birthday tribute on Instagram for her nephew, Tatum.
"My baby Tatum Happy 1st Birthday!" Kim shared on Instagram along with a carousel of photos.
Tatum is Khloé Kardashian's son and her second child, whom she shares with Tristan Thompson.
'OMGGGG you are such a smoosh, the happiest baby boy of all time,' Kim continues.
The proud aunt is holding Tatum in the first of three photos shared as she and Tatum look at the camera.
In the second photo, Kim is giving a kissy face to the camera while Tatum looks a little more serious.
In the third photo, Kim is lying on the couch on her back while holding Tatum above her head.
"I can't even tell you how loved you are and how special you are!" Kim continues in the caption. "You are Rob's twin! LOL Your auntie loves you SO MUCH"
In the comment section, people discussed how Tatum looks like Rob, the Kardashians' brother, while others struggled to figure out who Tatum was (which is kind of fair if you don't follow the family; he's a year old but his name and photo were only recently shared with the world).
But a lot of other people threw shady comments at Kim, feeling she looks totally different in these photos.
"What happened to Kim's face???" one critic questioned.
"What’s going on here? I fell asleep and Kim has a brand new face,” added another.
“omg didn’t even know this was kim,” “Kim face swollen,” and “OMG you look so different on these pictures!” were comments also left on the photo share.
On Reddit, the critiques on Kim’s selfies kept coming.
“I didn’t even recognise this as Kim!” someone wrote, sharing a thread with the latest photo of Kim.
Another person wrote that Kim “looks completely different” in these photos.
“It’s like someone had to draw Kim’s face from memory,” added another commenter.
“Did…she Facetune her nose to look like the baby’s…” questioned someone else.
Others came to Kim’s defense to say she just looked genuinely happy.
“She clearly isn't wearing makeup, and she looks as beautiful as always,” one fan wrote. “Bare face is the best.”
“She looks happy though.. like genuinely happy. and not trying to look sexy holding a baby, which is always a plus,” someone else wrote.
“Very pretty, looks like a genuine smile,” added another commenter.
