Kim Kardashian Says Late Father Reached Out Via a Medium & How She Knows It Was Really Him

It's been 20 years since Kim Kardashian's dad, Robert Kardashian Sr., died of esophageal cancer, but it sounds like that hasn't stopped her from feeling connected to him. In a new interview, the Kardashians star said she spoke to her late father via a medium, and just like any other dad, he decided to use this opportunity to crack a joke at her expense. This is something that Kim will probably never forget, especially with how hard she works to keep his memory alive.

Kim is on the latest cover of GQ.

Kim was named one of the magazine's Men of the Year — yes, even though she's a woman — and in her cover interview with GQ, she opened up about the team of psychics and mediums she consults regularly.

"One is more of a spiritual healer putting out good vibes and energy. When they tell me things, I’ll write them down. I don’t walk away thinking that I’m going to read the list and make sure that everything comes true," Kim said. "After a few days I’ll forget about it. Then six months after the fact, I will reread my notes from the session and it will have happened."

She said her father reached out to her during one of her sessions with a medium.

According to Kim, her father, who died in 2003, chose that moment to joke with her about her chipped tooth.

"My dad had a chip on his tooth, and I always said, 'Dad, get a bonding and fix that tooth.' He’d just laugh and say, 'Kimberly, no one sees it. It’s fine,'" Kim said.

During her session, Kim said that the medium told her, "your dad is laughing at your tooth."

Kim said that little detail is something no one else would have known.

"It was nothing that was on the show. It was nothing that I had ever said out loud. Those kinds of things just make me smile inside," she said.

It sounds like this encounter was a real comfort to Kim after she lost her father while she was still in her early 20s.

Kim talked about her dad in the interview.

At first, Robert didn't let on how serious his cancer was to his children or other close loved ones, and Kim didn't find out it was terminal until a doctor told her so. Ultimately, she had to be the one to tell her grandparents — his parents — the heartbreaking news.

"I called them and they were like, 'What? What are you talking about? We’ll be there in a few hours.' They came up from Palm Springs and he was in bed. Can you imagine? They were close and to not tell them. My grandmother was never the same again," she told GQ.

It sounds like Kim has found a sweet way to feel connected to her father.

She's definitely not the first celebrity to use a medium, and who knows? Maybe Robert will attempt to connect with her again in the future.

Either way, it's clear that he had such a positive impact on his children while he's alive, and they're doing their best to keep his memory alive in the present.
