Kim Kardashian Speaks Out Against Trump Admin’s ICE Raids & Says ‘People I Know’ Are Affected

Kim Kardashian is speaking out against the Trump administration’s immigration policy. During a roundtable at Diane von Furstenberg’s DVF Awards, where she was being honored for her prison reform work, Kim was asked to share her thoughts on President Donald Trump’s ICE raids. She suggested that while the Trump administration acts as if the ICE raids are only targeting “criminals,” that is not actually the case.

Kim said people she knows have been affected.

Kim said, “In the news you hear, ‘Oh, it’s about people who have committed these crimes and they’re trying to help out our country.’ But then you hear about all of the people who have worked so hard to build our country, and so many people that are such a part of our country getting affected. People I know. People my friends know.”

Though the Trump administration acts as though these ICE raids are helping the country, Kim suggested that they’re doing more harm than good. “You want to believe that there’s a powerful message in protection, but then you see that it’s not really happening like that,” she added. “It’s really tough, but I think that we have to do what we can to protect the people that have really supported and built our country.”

It’s not the first time Kim has spoken out.

In June, Kim spoke out against the Trump admin’s ICE raids on social media, arguing that Trump’s immigration policy is negatively impacting “innocent, hardworking” immigrants. “When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals – great,” Kim wrote. “But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.”

She added that “our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants,” who “are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family.”

Kim went on to say that Trump’s approach is not the best way to address concerns about immigration. “We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way,” she wrote.

But the Trump admin doesn’t care what she thinks.

In response to Kim’s more recent comments, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson told TMZ that Kim’s opinion on the subject doesn’t really matter. “President Trump is fulfilling his promise to the American people to deport criminal illegal aliens and Make America Safe Again — no matter what elite Hollywood celebrities have to say about it,” the deputy press secretary said.

Though the Trump administration allegedly doesn’t care about Kim’s opinion, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin confronted her on X in June. Sharing photos of people who had reportedly been detained by ICE, Tricia wrote, “@KimKardashian, which one of these convicted child molesters, murderers, drug traffickers, and rapists would you like to stay in the county? These are just a few of the convicted illegal criminals who have been picked up in the last 72 hours.”
