Critics Think Kim Kardashian Underpays Her Kids’ 10 Nannies

Kim Kardashian previously suggested that she’s essentially raising her four kids alone, but a recent report indicates that she gets quite a bit of help. Because she’s super busy, Kim reportedly employs multiple nannies to look after her kids. While some insiders claim Kim is willing to spend a lot of money on child care, some critics feel that it still isn’t enough.

Kim previously described feeling alone as a parent.

While she admitted that she does have a “great support system,” the mom of four said that she is essentially raising her kids, whom she shares with ex Kanye West, on her own. On Zoe Winkler’s podcast, What In the Winkler? Kim spoke about how people judge her for complaining about the stress that comes with parenting. After all, she has far more resources than most parents.

However, motherhood still feels like a lot to her. “People always will jump on the: ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help,’ I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, I’m basically raising four kids by myself here,” she said on the podcast in 2024.

An insider who spoke to People echoed this sentiment, saying that Kim is essentially a single parent. “Kanye is sadly not around very much. She’s pretty much a single mom,” the source told the publication. “Although she has help, it’s still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything.”

For more support, she reportedly employs multiple nannies.

Given that the Skims founder is extremely busy, she doesn’t mind paying for some extra help. A source recently told Life & Style that Kim is willing to spend “huge sums of money” on child care. She allegedly wants each of her kids to “have their own nanny around the clock.”

According to the insider, this means that she employs “a rotating team, all on full-time salaries.”

“These types of nannies don’t come cheap. Some of them command a quarter million a year,” the source alleged. “And it’s not like she just has four of them, she’s got something like 10 on staff, but she doesn’t bat an eye at dropping a few million a year.”

Kim reportedly thinks the cost is worth it.

Per the Life & Style insider, Kim’s kids are her priority, which means she’s willing to spend a lot of money on child care as long as her kids are “happy and safe.” Apparently hiring nannies also helps her cope with mom guilt. “Having a rotating team of nannies allows her to keep everything moving without feeling like she’s falling short as a mom,” the source claimed.

In May, The Sun reported that Kim employs about 10 nannies to look after her kids. According to an insider, “the house is often full of people there in service of the children” because Kim also hires tutors, teachers, and stylists for her children. The source claimed that Kim pays her nannies $100,000 or more a year.

To some critics, the salary didn’t seem high enough.

Sure, Kim’s child care expenses are probably pretty high. But some critics were not impressed by the alleged salaries she pays her kids’ nannies. “100k for TWELVE hour shifts 5-6 days a week for 4 very young, very rambunctious children?” one critic wrote on Reddit. ” On call 24-7?? Nahh. Make it 150-200k and get back to me.”

Another person pointed out that the amount Kim allegedly spends on child care is “hardly a staggering amount.”

At the same time, one person did admit that “her payroll must be absolutely insane between the nannies, security, hair and makeup, assistants, etc.”
