Fans were originally full of praise for Kim Kardashian, after snaps of her quietly enjoying a pint with her pals in a London bar went viral on Twitter. However, it doesn't appear as if everything was as it seemed in those shots, and new behind-the-scenes photos have people calling foul.

A photo of Kim appeared on Twitter on March 17.
Kim appeared ready to throw a few back in a seemingly candid snap captured by a pub-goer on St. Patrick's Day. In the photo, a denim-clad Kim was double fisting drinks — a Guinness and a shot of something called a baby Guinness, undoubtedly as a nod to the Irish holiday — while standing with friends in an unnamed London pub.
People immediately cheered Kim on for the totally normal way she celebrated the holiday.
Fans couldn't get over the idea of the uber-wealthy reality star popping in for a pint like anyone else would, and they took to Twitter to crack jokes about the idea.
"That picture of Kim Kardashian in a pub is actually mad," one person wrote of her down-to-earth appearance. "She legit looks like she's from Droylsden."
Another person revealed that Kim looked like one of any number of women they'd seen that day. "It's weird because in a pub setting she actually kind of blends in," the person wrote. "Currently on my break and I think I've served five women who look like this already haha."
Kim's illusion was quickly debunked by another photo from the night.
Another image from the night shows Kim surrounded by camera crews, people holding boom mics, and of course plenty of flattering lighting.
It looks like the totally relatable snaps of Kim enjoying a quiet drink with pals was actually just footage from an episode of the reality star's next season of The Kardashians.
People weren't happy about being fooled by the photos.
Those who originally supported Kim for stepping out with her pals likely felt tricked by the hidden truth of her spontaneous night out. At the same time, several people came to her defense. One person tweeted, "girl she is just at a bar getting a drink … bffr," according to BuzzFeed.

This seems like just another very public misstep by Kim.
Kim has had a few big PR fails over the past year, including her comments about how people just need to get up and work as well as the unhealthy way she went about fitting into her Met Gala gown from last year.
It may be time for Kim to pull back a bit from the public eye and reassess exactly what it is that people liked about her in the first place. Otherwise, all of this backlash could eventually force her to bow out completely.
