Kody Brown is currently monogamous, but not necessarily by choice, given that three of his wives left him. And while he previously suggested that he has given up on plural marriage, it now sounds like he would be open to adding another sister wife to his family. His current wife, Robyn, was disgusted when she found out why he’s suddenly open to the possibility. Season 20 of Sister Wives premieres on Sunday, September 28, 2025, but during a sneak peak, Kody and his wife had an awkward conversation about plural marriage.
Kody seems to be motivated by sex.
Though polygamy didn’t exactly work out for Kody, it sounds like he’d be willing to give it another go for someone who is physically attractive enough. During a sneak peak shared by People, Kody told Robyn, “There’s something I want, maybe more than you do.” At first, Robyn seemed to have no idea what her husband was talking about, but his vagueness later made it obvious to her.
“I don’t want to talk about that subject,” he said, shutting the conversation down. “Oh, you’re talking about sex,” Robyn concluded. Then, the cringe-worthy conversation managed to get worse.
He went on to say that he would evaluate a potential wife based on ‘how good looking she is.’
While he admitted that he mostly cares about physical attraction, he downplayed the desire as something that’s normal for men. “I’m afraid, at this state in my life, [it] would be just how good looking she is,” he told his wife. He even made it clear that he was “not kidding.” Robyn then told him this “would be the very worst reason.”
When she called him out for how he was “coming across,” he continued to defend himself. “I know, I know. I’m a guy and I don’t freaking care,” he told her.
She called him ‘a pig.’
Elsewhere in their conversation, Kody and Robyn spoke about how adding another sister wife to their family would change their entire dynamic and not be worth it. While it sounded like they mostly saw eye-to-eye at first, Kody’s comments about sex made it seem like he’s more interested in plural marriage than Robyn is. But during a confessional, she sort of brushed it off and said Kody was “just kind of being a bit of a pig.”
Kody previously said he didn’t want to deal with the ‘headache’ of pursuing another woman.
In the past, Kody acted like he was definitely not interested in plural marriage anymore, though he admitted that he was “bitter” after being “slapped by polygamy.”
“I don’t want to be flippant with my answer because we were devoted to this, but I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore,” Kody said. “I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want that headache, the questions, the struggles, the wonder about trust. I’m not in that space.”
Now, though, it sounds like Kody might possibly be willing to tolerate the “headache” — if the woman is hot enough for him. Only time will tell.
