Kody & Robyn Brown Blasted for ‘Bad Parenting’ After Fans Spot Danger Within Reach of Kids

Sister Wives is currently airing Season 18 on TLC, and in a recent episode, critics spotted something on the counters of Kody and Robyn Brown’s kitchen that makes them worry for the safety of their young kids and grandkids.

In one of the newer episodes of this current season, Kody and Robyn hosted a small gathering.

Things have been strained for the family on the season currently airing as we watch the fallout from Kody’s divorce from his third wife, Christine, and the slow breakup of his marriages between his first and second wife, Mari and Janelle.

Kody, who is essentially now in a monogamous marriage with his only wife Robyn, is also experiencing several strained relationships with his older kids.

In the show’s timeline, it was around Christmas, and a few of Kody’s kids from his other co-parents were at his house with Robyn.

In season 18, episode four, Mykelti, Truely, and Ysabel visited their dad at his home with Robyn.

Although he and Robyn had already celebrated Christmas with their kids at home, the parents hosted a few of the kids Kody shares with Christine at a separate date. In attendance at this gathering were also Mykelti’s daughter, Avalon, and the kids Kody and Robyn share.

Things were already awkward to watch as it became pretty clear on the screen that some of Kody’s kids were uncomfortable, but fans zeroed in on another issue they spotted.

On Reddit, critics called out Robyn and Kody over what they saw in the open on the counters in the kitchen.

“Meds just left lying around… what on earth!!” a Reddit thread in the popular SisterWives community read.

“Anyone notice the bottles of meds lying around on the kitchen counter at Robyn and Kody's when we have been allowed to see the mess… I mean house,” the Redditor shared.

“And they have young children running around. Those meds doesn't matter what they are should be in a cabinet high where ari and sol can not get them.”

The Redditor finished the post: 'I am sorry but that is bad parenting.'

In the episode, when the kids are hanging out, you can see in the background that Kody and Robyn’s kitchen counters are pretty full with what looks like medicine and vitamin bottles.

"I'm pretty sure they are OTC supplements," someone commented on the post. "But they should be locked away in a cabinet for child safety!"

“My parents still keep their meds up high and haven't kids in the house in 25 years!” another critic wrote. “And they're literal boomer generation, it's always been a thing to ‘hide away’ and ‘keep out of reach’ for medicine, it's not a new concept. Even vitamins and OTC stuff.”

“They definitely should put them away,” someone else wrote. “I found out years later that my kids used to mainline their mult-vitamins any time I wasn’t looking.”

“Seriously this is awful,” another person wrote.

Others in the thread stood up for Robyn and Kody, saying this isn’t something to get branded as a bad parent over.

“I can't stand Robyn as much as the next person, but these posts are getting out of hand,” one Redditor wrote. “Isn't their youngest 7 now? I'd say by then that kids know better (assuming they were taught).”

“The kids are old enough to know to not touch them,” another commenter added. “It seems like people these days look to call anyone a bad parent. I had my medications on the counter and my daughter knew not to touch them.”

“Lazy? Sure. Bad parenting? Nah,” shared someone else. “There are a lot of reasons they are bad parents but this is certainly the least of them.”

Sister Wives airs on Sunday nights on TLC.
