When Kylie Jenner celebrated her 29th birthday earlier this week, only one of her sisters was missing: Her oldest sister Kourtney Kardashian. But where was she? Some fans of the famous family have a theory about why Kourtney skipped out on the party, and it doesn’t exactly paint the Lemme founder in a very positive light. If their theory is correct, it would be hard to blame Kylie if she’s a little miffed about the whole thing.

Kylie, her BFFs, and most of her sisters celebrated with an all-pink, cat-themed birthday bash on the night before her birthday. Kim, Khloé, and Kendall were all there, and so were friends including Hailey Bieber.
Sharing photos of the festivities in a post on her Instagram, Kylie wrote, “happy bday eve to meeee 🩷 i had my dream princess kitty bday night 🤭🩷🎀 my heart if so full 🩷🩷 i love my life and my friends.”
She looks so happy, surrounded by so many people who love her (including her 8-year-old daughter, Stormi). But after seeing everyone who did show up to her party, fans were more focused on the person who didn’t.
Kourtney was the only sister missing from the party.
That was a fact that did not get past Kardashian fans on Reddit, who wasted no time pointing out that Kourtney was missing.
“Honestly, can Kourtney be any more self obsessed than she already is?! Skipped Kylie’s bday, while Khloe, Kendall and Kim were there,” the post said. “She’s probably still nursing her 2 year old baby now, and since Mason lives with Scott now, making sure Penelope and Reign don’t eat gluten, so she was too busy to go.”
People seem to think that she missed out for husband Travis Barker, which might check out — this week, they were at the premiere of his new Hulu documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, so maybe she didn’t feel like having two big events on her calendar in the same week.
Some people don’t blame her for being a no-show.
For one thing, Kylie’s other big sisters were obviously holding it down for her, and Kourtney may just not have been into this kind of thing at this stage of her life (even though Kim, who is only two years younger than her, still made it).
“She is a grown woman. Who says you have to go to a birthday party for a 29 year old?!!” one commenter said in Kourtney’s defense.
Even without Kourtney, it still seems like Kylie managed to have a great time. Maybe they got to celebrate together at a quieter family birthday gathering?
