Kristin Cavallari Says She Broke Up With Mark Estes After She Started To ‘Feel’ Their Age Difference

In case you haven’t heard the news, Kristin Cavallari and her 24-year-old TikToker boyfriend Mark Estes have called it quits. Just days after the news came of their breakup, Kristin is explaining what made her decide that it was time to move on — even if it sounds like her ex might not have agreed with her choice. Although their relationship has now come to an end, she said she still considers him the “best boyfriend I’ve ever had.”

Kristin confirmed the rumors that she and Mark broke up last week.

When the former reality TV star joined Alex Cooper on stage at the Austin, Texas, stop of her Unwell Tour, Kristin admitted that the rumors were true.

“It’s so fresh. My plan was not to say it,” she said.

She expanded on the choice during her podcast this week.

Even though she said she was never blind to the 13-year age gap between them, in the end, that’s what put the final nail in the coffin of their relationship.

“It’s hard because I broke up with Mark because I just know long-term it’s not right, and it’s not because of love lost or something bad happened,” she said, calling what they shared the “best relationship of my life.”

At times, Kristin got emotional talking about the split.

She admitted that it would be a lot easier to talk about her breakup if Mark had been the kind of guy to do  “something that makes you hate him,” but that he has been nothing but supportive of her and was “the best boyfriend I’ve ever had.”

Still, in the end, that wasn’t enough to keep things going.

“I just know long-term he needs to experience life, he’s young … I started to feel the age a little bit with life experience,” she said. “I look back when I was 24 and how much life has happened between then, those are crucial years, those are formative years, they’re when you find yourself and he needs to be able to do that.”

It sounds like Mark may not have been happy with Kristin's choice to break up.

Although she didn’t share the specifics of how Mark is feeling right now, she did say that she believes he’ll be grateful she decided to end things someday — something she called “the best thing for him.”

“He will have a beautiful family of his own,” she said. “I know that one day he will look back and understand it and I actually think one day he will look back and thank me.”

She has no regrets.

Moments like these can really be heartbreaking, but it doesn’t sound like Kristin would have changed anything about their relationship.

“I don’t regret going public with him,” she said. “I don’t regret introducing him to my kids. I don’t regret anything. It was such a good, happy relationship. And I think with every relationship you learn and you grow from, and I will forever look back at Mark and I with such fond memories and just pure happiness.”
