Kylie Kelce is gearing up to welcome a new member to her family, but fans are a bit miffed she hasn’t been louder about her excitement. On this week’s episode of Kylie’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, she addressed the backlash she’s received for not sharing her public congratulations to brother-in-law Travis Kelce on his engagement to Taylor Swift, and as usual, she had the perfect comeback ready.
Kylie said a lot of people have called her out.
On the podcast, she explained that she’s seen a “bunch of comments” from people who are calling her out for not sharing her congrats to Taylor and Travis after they announced their engagement last month, and now, she’s ready to put a stop to it for once and for all — especially since she pointed out that she has always made a “very conscious effort to not discuss Taylor and Travis on this podcast.”
“People do not realize that, you at home, you have your family,” she said. “And in your family, you might have a brother-in-law and they might be dating someone and you might have a soon-to-be sister-in-law.”
She congratulated Taylor and Travis privately.
As Kylie said, she has “a relationship personally with them that no one else is involved in” — just like anybody else would with their husband’s brother and his future wife.
“I don’t need to come out here and make statements when I already talked to them,” she said. “I don’t need to talk about them all the time. Our relationship is private between us, so it’s okay that time made it so that we didn’t congratulate them in the last episode and also that I don’t always have to comment on what they’re doing in their lives because I can just text them and talk to them.”
She’s very excited for Taylor to join the family — and her girls are excited to get a new aunt.
Not showing her excitement publicly doesn’t mean she’s not excited or happy for the couple, though.
“We are so excited that they are taking this next step,” she said. “My [daughters] are so excited to get another aunt. I am so truly happy for them and I feel so grateful that we get to welcome Taylor into our family in a more official capacity.”
Swifties are a big fan of Kylie’s response.

Fans talking about Kylie’s comments on X totally approve of her take on the situation — and of how protective she is of Taylor’s privacy.
“I can just text them and talk to them about it’ is such a flex,” one fan wrote.
Another said, “Props to her for setting that clear boundary that it is a private relationship. She doesn’t owe the public anything — no comment or mention of them.”
