Nearly two years into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship, his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce is spilling the details about the couple’s early days. During her appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week, Kylie opened up about meeting Taylor for the first time, what they originally bonded over, and, of course, how she and husband Jason Kelce found out his brother was dating the biggest pop star in the world.

Though Travis had spoken openly about trying to get Taylor’s attention with a friendship bracelet at the Eras Tour in Kansas City, as far as fans knew, he was unable to give it to her and his celebrity crush stayed a celebrity crush. But not long afterward, Taylor showed up at a September 2023 game when the Kansas City Chiefs played (and defeated) the Chicago Bears, cheering on her new boyfriend from a suite while sitting with his mom, Donna.
Now we know that wasn’t their first date – and at that point, Kylie already knew that they were together, but it sounds like she wasn’t told that far in advance.
“I will say we knew before everyone else knew. It did not hit the group chat,” Kylie admitted during the podcast. “Jason and I found out together. But, we knew before, like, they hard launched with her going to a game.”
Kylie wasn’t able to meet Taylor until several months later, when they came face-to-face for the first time when the Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills in January 2024. Some fans thought the delay meant Kylie was avoiding Taylor, but according to the podcast host, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
“I’m not avoiding anyone. I’m more than happy to meet someone, especially someone that Travis is dating,” Kylie said. “But it was funny to me because I kept saying to people, ‘I didn’t meet Travis for probably close to a year when Jason and I were dating.'”
As Kylie pointed out, Taylor was in the middle of the Eras Tour at the time, so finding a time to get together wouldn’t have been easy.

When they did finally meet, Taylor and Kylie had a lot more in common than just Travis because they both grew up in Pennsylvania.
“We grew up going to the same shore points,” Kylie explained. “So, her family was like Sea Isle, Stone Harbor. And that’s, like, the exact areas that I grew up going to. I’ve gone to Sea Isle City my whole life.”
Now, it seems like Kylie has had some time to spend with Taylor – including at the 2025 Super Bowl – and all those rumors have disappeared.
Maybe now that the Eras Tour and the football season are both over, we’ll see these two together more.
