Kylie Kelce Isn’t a ‘Fan’ of Push Presents as a Reward for ‘Growing a Child’

Kylie Kelce‘s life may have changed when she became a mom of four on March 30, but one thing has stayed the same: the brutally honest takes she shares about life and motherhood on her podcast, Not Gonna Lie. On this week’s episode, she didn’t hold back when it came to sharing her thoughts on push presents – the gifts some new moms receive from their partners after giving birth.

When her new baby girl, Finn, was born, Kylie’s husband Jason didn’t give her a shiny new piece of jewelry or a designer bag for the occasion, and that’s not just because she’s never been into those things. As a tradition, Kylie just doesn’t love the idea of push presents.

ā€œFor anyone unfamiliar with push presents, it’s basically a gift given by dad to new mom for growing a child. Can you tell by my explanation that I’m not quite a fan?ā€ Kylie said on the podcast. “They can be expensive like these designer bags, sentimental like this baby band, or edible, like a sushi platter.”

She went on to say that she was looking forward to having a nice sushi platter now that she was no longer pregnant, adding that a “little postpartum meal” could be nice for a new mom. But when it comes to physical gifts? She’ll pass.

“I think maybe you can get a gift for the mom, but push present makes it sound like it’s a reward,” she shared on the podcast. “I also don’t love getting gifts, maybe that’s part of the problem. I don’t love getting gifts, so that could be the issue.”

However, Jason did give her a push present when she welcomed their first baby, Wyatt, in 2019, and Kylie does still treasure it to this day: an initial necklace from Zoƫ Chicco with the letter W and a diamond.

“I wear this all the time. I actually still wear it, and it was a push present for Wyatt,” she said. “To be clear, I do know that we’re on our fourth kid. So I have switched to saying that the W counts for Wyatt and it now counts for [her late dog] Winnie, it’s fine.”

For Kylie, it sounds like adding another member to her family was present enough. After how much work goes into carrying a pregnancy and then delivering a baby, however, it’s hard to blame any moms out there who wouldn’t mind a present for their efforts!
