As Kylie Kelce prepares to welcome her fourth child, she’s getting candid about some of the uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms that have literally kept her up at night. Now that she’s at the “bitter end” of her pregnancy, one of the symptoms that has been bothering Kylie the most is insomnia. Though the podcast host has been up late at night for no reason at all, she is at least able to eat again.
For some time, Kylie could only eat a few bites of food.
During a short clip for her Not Gonna Lie podcast, Kylie opened up about how her pregnancy has made it difficult to enjoy a proper meal. “I can eat again,” Kylie said, laughing. “For a little while, her butt was so high up in my stomach that I would sit down with a plate of food, take four bites, and then not be able to take a fifth bite.”
As a “hungry pregnant woman,” this experience was quite “frustrating.”
“I would get actively angry,” Kylie explained. “Hangry, if you will. Because I would have to then put my food in the fridge and then come back, probably like an hour later, to try again.”
Kylie went on to say that even when she would try to eat about an hour later, she could only eat a few bites of her food, which was “absolutely infuriating.”
Right now, she’s struggling to sleep.
Luckily, she’s able to eat again — but she can’t sleep at night. “One of the worst [symptoms] is my insomnia,” Kylie said. “The other night, probably four different times, Jason rolled over and said, ‘What are you doing? Why are you awake?'” Jason Kelce is a former football player for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kylie said she was awake “from 2 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. for no reason whatsoever.” Even though she “wasn’t uncomfortable,” her baby “wasn’t doing flips,” and she “didn’t have reflux at that moment,” Kylie still couldn’t sleep. “For 4½ hours it was just me, myself, [and] my thoughts, which is lovely. Just lovely,” she added.
At one point, Kylie considered getting up and accomplishing something to avoid wasting time. “I thought maybe I should get up and put in a load of laundry. Be productive. I didn’t. I continued to lay there and try and convince myself that I was going to fall asleep,” she explained. “The good news is that my alarm went off at 6:45, so it was a nice 15 minutes. Power nap!”
She can’t really breathe either.
In addition to not being able to get a good night’s sleep, Kylie also hasn’t been able to “really get a good breath.” She explained that when she’s sitting down, it’s particularly challenging. “So a lot of times when I sit on the couch, I have to lean back like this to really open up what’s going on,” she said.
Kylie also misses spicy food.
While she is able to eat now, she can’t eat all of the foods she enjoys due to acid reflux. “I want spicy things,” Kylie said. “I want to have chicken tacos with spicy salsa on it. Can’t. I can’t because I would then breathe fire for three days.”
“It’s the miracle of life,” Kylie added sarcastically. “So beautiful.”
