Lady Louise Windsor Might Follow in Queen Elizabeth’s Footsteps & Join the Military

Lady Louise Windsor reportedly aspires to follow in her grandmother's footsteps. Louise, 20, is a student at the University of St. Andrews, the same university that her cousin Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, attended. She is a member of St. Andrews University Officers’ Training Corps, which provides military training to students. A friend recently told The Sun that Louise is "very keen on a career in the military, serving the King and country."

Lady Louise Windsor loves the idea of serving in the military.

According to The Sun, Louise, who is the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has "fallen in love" with the idea of joining the military.

“She is all about the Army Cadets and has fallen in love with it," the source told the news outlet.

She will be the first woman to follow in the Queen's footsteps.

If she really does pursue a military career, she will be the first woman in the Royal Family to do so since her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, became a full-time active member of the Armed Services. Queen Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1945.

Right now she's focusing on school.

Currently, Louise, who is 16th in line to the throne, is focusing on her education, per the Daily Mail. She has chosen to stay in Edinburgh for school during two Easter Sunday services, reported the news outlet, and she largely stays out of the limelight.

She has other interests as well.

Although she's "in love" with the prospect of joining the military, Louise has also expressed interest in other career paths. On her LinkedIn profile, she reportedly has written that she's "interested in pursuing a career in the military, diplomacy, or law," per The Sun.

Louise is also involved in other activities at school.

In addition to being a member of St. Andrews University Officers’ Training Corps, Louise volunteers in the community and works a couple of jobs for extra money, The Sun reported.
