This Is How Much Money Lauren Sánchez Is Likely To Get in Prenup With Jeff Bezos

Although Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez may have only just gotten engaged, people can't help but speculate about how much the 53-year-old news anchor stands to gain if she ever ends up divorced from the billionaire. Some lawyers have put forth their predictions, and it sounds like Lauren could leave her marriage a very, very wealthy woman.

One attorney spoke to Page Six about what Lauren could be paid in the event of a divorce.

Brett Ward — who doesn't represent the couple — estimated that Lauren would walk away from her marriage with at least $1 million for "every year married." And that's not his only prediction. In a future divorce, Lauren also would likely take a chunk out of Jeff's expansive real estate portfolio. Brett said she could nab a "multimillion-dollar residence" as well.

Neither one of them has mentioned whether there will be a prenup agreement.

Those numbers seem to ride on whether Lauren and Jeff decide to put together a prenuptial agreement before they say "I do" and on just how tight-fisted Jeff will be with his massive fortune. As the third-richest man in the world, he has reason to be concerned, especially when you consider how much his 2019 divorce from MacKenzie Scott cost him.

MacKenzie locked down the biggest divorce settlement in history when she was awarded a staggering $38 billion. But Brett said he doesn't think that experience will play any part in Jeff and Lauren's decision to sign a prenup.

"Jeff is in a very different place now than he was then," he explained. "He was on his way up and may have never been able to predict the level of wealth [he'd accumulate], but now that is established."

The couple only just got engaged, so it feels a bit premature to be talking about divorce.

TMZ reported that Jeff likely popped the question while he was in Europe with Lauren. The pair arrived in Spain on May 15, and it's believed that Jeff asked for Lauren's hand sometime between then and May 17, when Lauren appeared to be wearing a new ring — although it's hard to know for sure, because she kept the glittery stone turned in toward her palm to avoid detection when dealing with the paparazzi.

Congrats to the newly engaged couple.

Even though it's fun to speculate about the financial aspects of a possible separation, especially when a multibillionaire is involved, we're pulling for Jeff and Lauren to have a long and happy marriage. That truly seems a likely outcome because there have been no signs they will experience anything other than the best of times together once they finally make it down the aisle.
