There’s no way Lauren Sánchez thought she would attend the Met Gala for the first year and come out unscathed. She and husband Jeff Bezos donated a reportedly exorbitant amount of money during a time when there is an ‘eat the rich’ mentality in the United States. So when she showed up looking as she does, people quickly flew to social media to roast her for her “Mar-a-Lago face.”
For those who are unaware, this is the term claimed by someone in the ether and it’s used to describe a look of plastic surgery and fillers and makeup that women close to Donald Trump all seem to have. Sánchez and Bezos are pretty close to Trump, and we’re front and center at his 2025 inauguration. Now, like it or not, they are forever pegged to the reality-star-turned-president. So when people joked about Sánchez’s appearance at the Met Gala, others had a hard time feeling sorry for her. Maybe she can wipe her tears with the billions of dollars she has?

Somehow, Sánchez has never admitted to plastic surgery. But her full lips, expressionless face, and change in appearance over the years says differently. Now, because of that very look, people have pegged her to be another casualty of the Mar-a-Lago face. That includes her look at the Met Gala.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a photo of Sánchez posing for a Met Gala photo and wrote, “All the money in the world and Lauren Sánchez Bezos still looks like a plastic Mar-a-Lago ho at the Met Gala.”
That’s certainly one way to put it.
Someone responded to the post to share their assessment of Sánchez’s potential plastic surgery to attain this specific look of hers.
“Her plastic surgeon should be shot,” they wrote. Well, alright, then. The user continued, “The boobs look ridiculously unreal. and the face is overdone with Botox, solid cheek implants, and lip fillers. I am assuming she was not going for an authentic look, but a wax figure in a museum look. Bezos looks foolish next to this clown.”
Another added, “With all the money in the world you can’t buy class, elegance and distinction, much less intelligence and decency.”

Those who are forever critics of Bezos left no stone unturned when it comes to Sánchez at the Met Gala. Because, elsewhere on X, someone posted about the way her hands look. It’s often said that, even with skin smoothing treatments and plastic surgery for older people, the biggest tell is their aged hands. For Sánchez, despite her Mar-a-Lago face, that can also be said, it seems.
“Lauren Sánchez Bezos paid top dollar to pull her face tight but her hands are a whole different story,” the X user wrote. They also shared a close-up image of Sánchez’s left hand, which looks a little swollen and wrinkled, with a large diamond ring on her finger.
Other users noted that it’s always in the hands. Because, as Kris Jenner likely knows herself while she wore gloves to the Met Gala, hands show age in a way that you can’t really ignore.
Her dress choice was called into question too.

Look, I don’t make the rules when it comes to attacking the elite celebrities in the county, OK? So when other people on social media took notice of Sánchez’s sort of lackluster dress she chose for her first ever Met Gala, it was a critique that was hard to ignore. People called out her dress for being nothing more than another vehicle to show off her breasts. Others called it an “Amazon Basic.” For us normies, there’s nothing wrong with Amazon Basics. For a billionaire wife, you might expect something a little classier or, you know, interesting.
“Whatever she wears she will always look basic. Money can’t buy class,” someone pointed out on X.
Another X user wrote, “It’s not the dress, it’s just everyone is sick of looking at her fake boobs. Can’t she wear an outfit where they are actually covered????”
Body shaming isn’t really the way to go, especially if we’re trying to be above the billionaires who are taking over. Then again, it is an eat the rich era, so going low might be the only way to go right now.
