Lili Reinhart fans were genuinely concerned about her well-being after she documented an unsettling Uber experience — then proceeded to go silent for hours. The 28-year-old Riverdale actress took to TikTok to share footage from her creepy Uber ride, captioning the post with, “is this gonna be an uber horror story.” Then, when she didn’t post anything for 15 hours after that, fans grew increasingly worried that Lili truly had been the victim of an “Uber horror story.”
Her Uber had taped-up doors.
In a video shared on TikTok, Lili was seated in the backseat of an Uber. The backseat doors appeared to be taped from the inside of the vehicle. “If you never see me again, show this to the police,” Lili wrote over the clip.
Fans started to worry.
When fans watched the video and realized that hours had passed since Lili had posted anything, they began to worry about her.
“This was posted 13 hours ago, are you ok?” one fan commented on the video.
A second person wrote, “so it’s been a little while.. um should we send out a search party for you?”
“queen are you still with us,” a third fan wondered. Fans started urging Lili to post something to let her followers know that she was OK.
“pls post something in the next few hours otherwise everyone will think you’ve been kidnapped by the trash bag killer again,” one person wrote.
Eventually, Lili returned to social media and let her followers know she was OK.

So many people were worried about the actress that she ended up addressing everyone’s concerns on both TikTok and Instagram. Commenting on her own video, she wrote, “I’M ALIVE.”
Via her Instagram Stories, she clarified that her video about her creepy Uber was just a joke. “I’m alive,” she wrote. “I was never actually scared for my life … I thought it was funny. Can we joke these days??”
The video garnered so much attention that even Uber itself responded. “Support Team Here – Glad to hear you’re safe and were only joking, but if you ever need assistance, please let us know!” the ride-sharing company commented on Lili’s video. “We’re here to help.”
People called the actress out for her ‘awful joke.’
While many fans were relieved to find out that Lili was totally fine, some people didn’t find her “joke” very funny. One critic called Lili’s explanation “tasteless and disgusting.” On Reddit, they wrote, “Women are in, almost, constant fear of something happening while in an uber, taxi or even with a significant other.”
Some people found her response genuinely confusing — after all, why wouldn’t people find her video concerning? “Does she think the correct response to a woman saying she’s in an unsafe situation is for everyone to assume she’s joking and not take it seriously?” one person wondered.
“What a strange thing to post,” a third critic wrote, reacting to Lili’s response. “Feels like any woman should understand why this isn’t funny, what is the joke exactly?”
Several people were offended that the actress didn’t seem to take people’s concerns all that seriously.
“This is not the type of stuff you joke about,” one person pointed out. “It’s not funny and it very much is happening in real life.”
