As they promote their new holiday rom-coms, Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert revisited a much earlier project while on Watch What Happens Live. Lindsay and Lacey starred in Mean Girls as Cady Heron and Gretchen Wieners, respectively, more than 20 years ago. Watching the mini-Mean Girls reunion allowed fans to bask in their early 2000s nostalgia.

In the sketch, they reenacted the cafeteria scene.
Lindsay, Lacey, and host Andy Cohen revisited the cafeteria scene in which Cady learned about the rules the “Plastics” had. Reenacting the scene, Lindsay, now 38, said, “Having lunch with the Plastics was like leaving the actual world and entering girl world — and girl world had a lot of rules.” Reprising her role as Gretchen Wieners, 42-year-old Lacey explained some of the rules, sounding exactly the same as she did in the movie.
Andy Cohen portrayed Regina George.
The cafeteria scene sketch differed from the original largely because Andy Cohen portrayed Regina George. During the sketch, Andy (as Regina) read the information on a nutrition label. “I’m only eating foods with less than 30 percent calories from fat,” Andy said before eventually storming off to get cheese fries.

Lindsay and Lacey couldn't help but laugh.
While Lindsay and Lacey seemed committed to staying in character, they couldn’t help but laugh when Andy said he was getting cheese fries. In the next part of the sketch, Cady and Gretchen talked about Aaron Samuels, the cute guy in Cady’s calculus class who was also Regina’s ex-boyfriend.
Channeling Gretchen, Lacey warned that having a crush on Aaron Samuels was not acceptable. “Ex-boyfriends are off limits to friends — that’s just, like, the rules of feminism!” she said.
Fans loved the reenactment.
Reacting to the sketch on Instagram, fans praised Lacey and Lindsay’s acting skills.
“Lacey is goooood!!” one person commented. “She’s still got it.”
Another person added that “Lacey still sounds the same.”
Additionally, one fan noticed how Lindsay seemed to remember all of her lines. “I love how Lindsey basically remembered all the lines without even looking at the card!” the fan wrote.
For some fans, watching the reenactment was “like going back in time.” “My millennial heart is so happy,” one fan commented.
Lindsay and Lacey are both starring in separate Netflix holiday movies.
Both Lacey and Lindsay are in the middle of promoting their new movies. Lacey stars in Hot Frosty, a new Netflix rom-com about a widow who brings a snowman to life. Meanwhile, Lindsay portrays a woman who finds out her ex is dating her boyfriend’s sister in a new Netflix holiday rom-com called Our Little Secret.
