Man Says Trump Shirt Gives Off ‘Cult Vibes’

One thing that those who do not support Donald Trump have in common is an innate desire to call out Trump supporters as a collective cult. To many, the idea of blindly following a leader despite any potential wrongdoings, and making excuses for admitted wrongdoings, gives off cult vibes.

The same can be said for those who wear shirts or have memorabilia that supports Trump and his cause, and a user on TikTok by the name of Derek shared a video where he calls out such a shirt.

In his video, he films a man behind him in line at target. He says the shirt the man is wearing, which has an image that is a mashup of an American flag, the Punisher logo, and Trump, gives off “cult vibes.” Derek’s TikTok is full of videos from different rallies in support of abortion rights and against Trump and his ideas for the United States, so his critique of the “culty” shirt checks out.

He immediately clocks the shirt as ‘trashy.

Derek’s video is short and the man with the Trump shirt does not respond to his comments. However, the caption shares that Derek was “harassed” by his local mayor for his shirt, so he felt the need to call out the man for his choice of shirt.

It’s unclear what shirt Derek was accosted about, but many of the shirts he wears in his videos pertain to abortion rights, human rights, and pro-LGTBQ+.

‘Look at this guy,’ Derek says in his video, sharing a glimpse of the man behind him in line.

“His shirt is so trashy. It gives cult vibes, cult vibes, cult vibes. This is a cult right here. Look at his shirt. It’s a cult.”

Derek didn’t respond to any of the comments under the video, but most were in agreement with his assessment of the Trump shirt. Some even said that the man wearing the shirt is channeling his inner Trump with a spray tan and light blonde hair. Others expressed that the fictional Punisher character would never approve of a shirt designed this way.

According to Marvel, the Punisher is a vigilante in the comics. He is an ex-US Marine who targets criminals. Those who have clung to the Punisher’s logo as a way to appear American and pro-Trump likely comes from the fictional character’s former standing as a soldier.

But Marvel fans do not love this collective takeover of the logo, especially when used with Trump’s messages.

Someone even wrote under the video, “MAGA literally doesn’t understand the Punisher either.”

“Them thinking Trump is the pinnacle alpha,” another user commented on Derek’s video.

Someone else wrote, “I’m pretty Punisher said he doesn’t like people who imitate him.”

Trump supporters might come out in droves every chance they get, but don’t question the knowledge and confidence of a Marvel fan.
