Marcus Jordan Wants Dad Michael Jordan as Best Man When He Marries Larsa Pippen

It goes without saying that Marcus Jordan hopes that his dad, NBA legend Michael Jordan, will be there when he and Larsa Pippen tie the knot, but as things stand right now, it might not be a given — especially because Marcus has a pretty big ask for Michael when it comes to planning his big day. In a new interview, Marcus said he wants his dad to be his best man, continuing a sweet tradition in his family. But that might be a tall order, considering Michael's connection to the Pippens and the underlying drama. This celebrity wedding will be one to remember no matter how it all plays out.

Marcus is hoping his dad will stand by him on his big day.

While talking to Pablo Torre on his YouTube series, Pablo Torre Finds Out, Marcus opened up about his hope that his father will do him the honor of being his best man.

"I was the best man at [my dad’s] wedding, and I was the best man at my brother’s wedding. Obviously, we’ll keep that tradition going, is my thoughts on it," he said.

Though Michael and Scottie started out as teammates and friends when they played for the Chicago Bulls, a lot has changed since then. After the documentary The Last Dance premiered in 2020, Scottie wasn't impressed with how much the focus was on Michael and not on the rest of the team, and in a podcast interview in May, Scottie said Michael was "horrible to play with."

The rift between them still stands today, making it a bit awkward that Michael's son is now planning his wedding to Scottie's ex-wife.

In August, Marcus said his wedding to Larsa is 'in the works."'

After the couple sparked engagement rumors earlier this year, 32-year-old Marcus told TMZ that though he hasn't formally popped the question to Larsa, 49, they're already starting to plan their nuptials.

"We're looking for a location," he said at the time.

Michael has made it clear he doesn't support Marcus' relationship with Larsa.

When paparazzi caught up with Michael back in June, they asked him, "What do you think of Marcus and Larsa together?" At first, he just laughed in response, but when they said, "Do you approve of it?" he quickly replied "No."

On an episode of the podcast that Larsa and Marcus share, Separation Anxiety, she admitted that hearing that from her future father-in-law was hurtful.

"I didn't think it was funny. There is nothing funny about it … I kinda felt like it went everywhere, and I was kind of embarrassed," she said.

Hopefully, they'll be able to sort this out before the wedding.

It seems they may have plenty of time because the event is still in the planning stages and rings haven't yet been exchanged. It's obviously important for Marcus to have his dad by his side on his big day – but it seems like they have a lot of things to hash out before that can happen.
