Matt LeBlanc was spotted smoking a cigarette in Los Angeles amid reports circulating that his Friends costars are concerned about his well-being. The 57-year-old actor was photographed on October 29, a day after the one-year death anniversary of Matthew Perry, who drowned at his California home after an overdose on October 28, 2023. An insider shared that Matt's costars are worried.
The Daily Mail reported that the insider claimed Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox, among others, have opened up about concerns for Matt, adding that they have made efforts to spend more time with him and make sure at least one of them has an eye on him.
Taking it further, Jennifer is said to have “been spending a lot of time with Matt at his home … cooking for him, or just hanging out and watching movies, or sitting and chatting” and has even “stayed over a couple of times.”
They're not judging his lifestyle.
Another source, speaking to In Touch, made sure to point out that they’re not judging the noticeable changes that have occurred in Matt’s appearance.
“Nobody’s body shaming Matt or accusing him of anything untoward lifestyle, that’s not what’s going on here,” the insider said. “What’s concerning though, for Jen [Aniston] and all the Central Perk crew, is that he’s such a recluse these days and they barely hear from him from one month to the next.”

Matt shared a tribute to Matthew in November 2023.
“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” Matt wrote November 14, 2023, in an emotional tribute to Matthew.
“It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never,” he added. “Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
He hasn’t made a post on Instagram since.
He's lost his interest in 'socializing.'
According to the source, Matt doesn’t care much for spending time with others anymore. “He’s been in touch since the tragic passing of Matthew Perry,” the insider said, per In Touch. “But aside from that, he’s just hunkered down and doing his own thing without any real interest in socializing. That’s just plain sad for everyone to see.”
Matt's friends have rallied around him.
“He used to be such an upbeat, happy guy but now it’s as though he doesn’t feel worthy to be in their company somehow. Clearly his self esteem’s taken a knock, and you only have to look at the guy to see he’s let himself go physically too,” the source continued. “Jen, Courteney [Cox], Lisa [Kudrow] and David [Schwimmer] all want to get him back in the fold and get him smiling again. The recent tragedy has taught them all how short and precious life truly is.”
