Adults of a certain age are going to be celebrating the surprise crossover event decades in the making when they learn that actor Matthew Lawrence has found love with TLC's Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Chilli's rep just confirmed the happy news, giving '90s kids everywhere a hit of nostalgia to kick off the new year.
People magazine broke the happy news on Tuesday.
According to Chilli's rep Christal Jordan, the pair have been official since around Thanksgiving, with Matthew joining Chilli's family in Atlanta over the holidays.
This confirmation comes several months after the duo were photographed on what appeared to be a romantic Hawaii getaway in August.
The TLC singer is already head over heels.
It sounds like this budding relationship is the real deal, too. "I've been with Chilli since 2005 and I've never seen her this in love," her rep confessed of the coupling. "She is glowing. They are really cute together."
This swoon-worthy news comes just days after the couple appeared to make an announcement of sorts themselves.
Chilli and Matthew are Instagram official now.
The new couple rang in the new year with yet another throwback. Wearing matching pajamas and dancing to A-Ha's "Take On Me," Matthew and Chilli bounced around and showed off their fun side in a cute video clip posted to both their social media accounts.
OK, but can we also get a "No Scrubs" video as well?
We're not the only ones thrilled about this news.
Fans and friends alike were quick to share their happiness over the new couple alert. Matthew's former Boy Meets World costar Danielle Fishel (that's Topanga for all you Gen Z readers) shared her joy in the comments.
"This makes me very happy," she wrote alongside two heart emojis.
Seeing these two together makes us feel like kids again.
We're happy that these two found each other after a series of public failed relationships — Matthew recently divorced from Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke, and Chilli was tied to both Usher and Dallas Austin over the years — and that they both appear to be happier than ever.
Hopefully this cheerful news sets the tone for the rest of 2023!
