Matthew McConaughey’s Son Levi Joins Social Media & Fans Flood His First Post With Advice

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves McConaughey are celebrating their son, Levi, for his 15th birthday with the gift of allowing him to have social media accounts. The parents took to Instagram to share a video for their son, giving him their OK to join social media.

On July 7, Levi celebrated his birthday, and his parents shared a video.

"Happy Birthday Levi Alves McConaughey," Matthew said, followed by Camila, who admitted she was "a little nervous today about one of the gifts we are giving you."

"I am, I'm a little nervous," said Camila, who also shares 10-year-old Livingston and 13-year-old Vida with Matthew.

In the video, the parents shared one of the gifts Levi was receiving.

"We are allowing you, Levi, today, on your 15th birthday, to join the social media universe," the proud dad shared.

"We've been talking about this for a long time," Camila added. "Preparing for it, talking about it for three years now."

At 15, Levi's parents said it was a good time to share him with the world.

Matthew and Camila said Levi "knows who he is," so they're not as worried about any potential influences the social media world may have.

"He knows where he's going. I think he can handle it," Matthew continued. "He has a great story to tell, to share."

Matthew and Camila introduced Levi to their social followers.

"I want to let all of y'all know you're getting a very cool and respectful young man, Levi McConaughey, coming at you, and I hope you can all do your best to treat him the same way," Matthew shared.

"Levi, enjoy the adventure, sharing your story and expressing yourself, and exchanging with the people out there."

Levi posted his first reel to Instagram, introducing himself quickly.

"Hi, I'm Levi," Levi shared as a collage of photos and videos from his life plays a quote from Dazed and Confused said by his dad's character.

Levi plans to share details about his family, fashion, and love for surfing.

Fans of the McConaugheys flooded Levi's comment section with sound advice.

Levi's first reel has almost reached a million plays, and in the comment section, fans shared really sound advice for the young teen.

"Welcome to social media, young sir — listen to your parents Levi, your father and mother are both wise and seasoned people," one person wrote. "You already seem like a well-mannered young man! Keep livin' is right! Looking forward to more content."

"Happy Birthday Buddy.. keep your parents close and you can't go wrong," another person shared. "Always think about your choices and there absolutely nothing wrong or worried about getting a 2nd opinion . Let no one dull your shine!"

The advice was adorable and wholesome.

"Welcome to the social media world Levi, happy birthday to you! Just remember most of this stuff is just for the 'gram' as some people may call it," another social media user shared. "Always stay true to the authentic YOU, don't allow the people on this platform to get to you, unless of course it's in a positive way. Enjoy all life's greatest gifts."

"Welcome to the world of social media and false impressions," someone else wrote. "I hope you rise above."

"Welcome and happy birthday! The world can be filled with ugly people hiding behind their screens," someone else warned. "If they start please don't be afraid to turn the comments off. You should be allowed to enjoy this platform with no judgment."

Happy birthday, Levi!
