With the recent release of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex has never been in the spotlight more. And now, Meghan Markle is being accused of “exploiting” kids Archie and Lili after sharing a rare photo of them on Instagram just as she promoted her latest money making venture. The timing does seem a bit suspicious …
Meghan shared a new photo of her children on Monday.
A joint post shared by Meghan and the official Instagram account from her brand, As Ever, showed Meghan in her garden with Lili on her hip and Archie hugging his mom’s leg tightly.
“Every day is a love story,” reads the caption of the photo, along with a white dove emoji.
At the same time, she launched a new venture.

Also on Monday, Meghan took to her Instagram Stories to share that she had created a page on the website Shop My, where she shared that she has compiled “a handpicked and curated collection of the things I love,” including clothing and accessories. She noted that she may earn a commission from purchases made using the links featured on the site.
“Many of you have asked, so here you go!” Meghan wrote on her Stories. “A little shopping to start the week. More to come.”
Meghan is now being accused of using her children to make money.
Some royal watchers believe that Meghan timed the new photo of her children – which is always a huge draw for eyes on her account – to sharing the link to Shop My so the increase in traffic would lead to more sales.
While talking to The Sun, Queen Elizabeth‘s former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, called the move “a mixture of a lack of imagination and desperation.”
Meanwhile, royal expert Phil Damphier added, “Nothing happens by accident and she would have thought this through and knows putting a photo of her children out at the same time as her clothing line would get maximum publicity. It begs the question whether Meghan is exploiting her two children who remain in the line of succession. I’d expect the Palace to take a dim view of this.”
Others are convinced something even fishier is happening.
On X, many of Meghan’s critics were more focused on the new photo of the kids and were convinced that the children in the pictures are either stand-ins or AI generated.
“I believe the kids exist, I don’t believe this is them. This is an AI pic,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote, “Is it just me or does anyone else notice that the kids in the pics hair cuts and color constantly change? Is she using different sets of rent-a-kids or inconsistent photoshopping? Make it make sense!”
Although Meghan hasn’t shared her motivation behind using Shop My, it may be a step too far to accuse her of using stand-ins as her children online when she’s spent the last several years not sharing glimpses of them at all. Besides, they both have always had red hair – that’s all Prince Harry.
