Meghan Markle Celebrates Her First Emmy Nomination of Her Career

After working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, Meghan Markle may finally end up with a shiny award to show for it. Her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, was nominated for an Emmy — the first of the actress’ career, despite all those seasons she starred on Suits. Knowing the kind of hate Meghan gets on a regular basis, though, it probably won’t surprise you to hear that people aren’t exactly impressed.

With Love, Meghan is nominated for Outstanding Lifestyle Program.

When the Daytime Emmy Awards nominations were announced on Tuesday, Meghan’s series was among them. With Love, Meghan has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Lifestyle Program, alongside The Motherhood, A Different Breed, Wizard of Paws, and George to the Rescue.

We won’t find out if Meghan will take home the award for a while, though. The Daytime Emmys aren’t happening until October 30, 2026.

Meghan celebrated the nomination with a post on Instagram.

Meghan shared a poster from the show in an Instagram post to share the news with her followers.

“A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on With Love, Meghan on @netflix,” she wrote in her caption. “We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series!”

Considering the show’s relatively short run, it’s impressive that that it’s being recognized in this way — though it’s definitely worth mentioning that the Daytime Emmys are very different from the primetime version of the awards, which is what everyone tends to tune into every year. Still, Meghan has a lot to be proud of, even if there are plenty of people who aren’t convinced this is as big of an achievement as it seems to be.

The thinkpieces are already out there.

As anyone who knows anything about the way Meghan’s been received by the public, the reaction to this news isn’t super congratulatory. Actually, most people are actually accusing her of paying for the nomination herself.

And then, there’s what royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News: In her professional opinion, this award nomination is less about recognizing Meghan’s work and more about the Emmys using her name for attention.

“The really weak commercial traction of her show, with dreadfully low on-going watching demonstrated by lack of audience appeal, doesn’t warrant such an award, but no doubt it will garner the aforementioned media attention,” Hilary said.

It’ll be interesting to see if this nomination (and possible future win) ends up having any impact as Meghan continues to grow her As Ever brand, especially now that the show is finished for good at Netflix.

Now, if only we knew what the royal family thinks about Meghan scoring a nom…
