It's no secret that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's relationship hasn't been the best, right from the get-go, but now we're getting new insight into that pre-wedding fight that's made so many headlines since 2018. Apparently, Meghan made a joke about Kate's "baby brain" during the wedding planning process, and it did not go over well.
They had a misunderstanding about wedding rehearsals before the wedding.

According to what a source with knowledge of the contents of Prince Harry's upcoming memoir told the Daily Mail, Meghan blamed the mix-up on Kate being pregnant with Prince Louis at the time.
"In the book Harry says that there was a discussion about the timing of the wedding rehearsal and the flower girl dresses and Kate was very upset," the source said. "Meghan said that Kate must have 'baby brain because of her hormones."
Cracking jokes about how pregnancy makes you forgetful is pretty typical among friends, but apparently, it was not typical in the royal family.
Kate was offended by what Meghan said.
"It caused a huge row because Meghan was told that she wasn't close enough to her sister-in-law to discuss her hormones and it wasn't the way people spoke to each other within the royal family," the source said.
Meghan came away from the situation feeling like the fight wasn't her fault, although it sounds like the other royals may have disagreed.
Harry also wrote about the incident when Kate made Meghan cry.

This situation has been talked to death — both in unconfirmed reports online and even in Meghan and Harry's sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 — but Harry is using his book to clear the air about the situation once more. According to Harry's memoir, Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress didn't fit well enough, and Kate told Meghan that all of the dresses needed to be remade.
That was enough to reduce Meghan to tears under the stress of wedding planning, and Kate later realized that she was in the wrong and brought Meghan flowers and a card to apologize, according to Page Six.
It sounds like the relationship between the women was doomed from the start.
They might have played nice in public for the short period of time that Meghan remained in royal life after her marriage to Harry, but behind-the-scenes, it sounds like there was constant turmoil.
After the release of this memoir, we can't imagine things will improve anytime soon.
The rift between Harry and his family will likely be larger than ever once the full book is out.
Spare hits shelves on January 10, which is just a few days away. And if the rest of the book is anything like the excerpts that have leaked so far, it sounds like Harry's family relationships may have reached the point of no return.
Sigh. If only we could have been able to see Meghan and Kate as royal BFFs.
