Prince William ‘Livid’ Over Meghan Markle’s ‘Tasteless’ Photos at Princess Diana’s Home

Apparently, Prince William finds Meghan Markle’s photo dump from her family’s trip to the United Kingdom “tacky” and distasteful. After Meghan, Prince Harry, and their children traveled to the U.K. for a brief visit, Meghan took to Instagram to share some photos with her 4.7 million followers.

Scroll through the post and you’ll eventually land on an image that shows Meghan and Harry’s daughter, Lilibet, walking behind Harry and Archie, who appear to be carrying flowers. This one photo in particular has sparked a ton of backlash online because people believe it was taken at Althorp Estate, where Princess Diana grew up.

It is also where Princess Diana is buried. Althorp House is open to the public for two months each year, but Diana’s burial site is not. Because of the large bouquets Harry and Archie were carrying in the photo, some suspect that their family visited Diana’s burial site.

Reports allege that the image bothers Prince William.

According to a report from In Touch, William didn’t have an issue with Harry and Meghan taking their children to Althorp. However, he seems to draw the line at posting about it publicly. To him, Meghan’s Instagram post reportedly felt inappropriate, or even… tacky, according to another source.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that William is likely “livid” because he doesn’t think Althorp should’ve been part of Meghan’s summer photo dump on Instagram.

“Not only is Prince William likely to be livid regarding such commercialization of Althorp in such a tacky tasteless media post, it’ll fuel his disgust so he shall thwart any major re-entry,” she claimed.

He’s definitely not the only one who has an issue with it.

It seems like Meghan faces criticism no matter what she does. Sometimes, critics take issue with things that seem pretty trivial and insignificant; however, her usual haters weren’t the only ones who had a problem with her recent post, according to a report from commentator Rob Shuter.

Those who have criticized Meghan’s post are basically saying you don’t have to post everything on social media. Some moments are personal and private, and you can keep photos as mementos to look back on without sharing them with the entire world.

“This has upset people who normally defend Meghan,” an insider told Rob. “The backlash isn’t just coming from her critics anymore.”

Another source said, “Even people who usually refuse to comment on Harry and Meghan are wincing. The feeling is that some family moments are simply too sacred to share.”

It’s possible that William is disappointed, but not surprised.

When it comes to Harry and Meghan’s behavior, it seems like William has lowered his expectations to save himself from being disappointed. Another insider told Rob that seeing Meghan’s photo that appeared to be taken at Althorp truly did bother him because of the sense of protectiveness he feels. But it didn’t necessarily surprise him.

“William has always been fiercely protective of his mother’s memory,” the insider said. “He’s upset, but sadly, he’s no longer shocked by anything Harry and Meghan do.”

Meghan has not actually said whether the controversial photo was taken at Althorp. The Instagram slideshow that has sparked backlash contained multiple photos, and she simply captioned the post, “Summer Holiday” with a sunshine emoji.

While William reportedly sees the photos as bad publicity for the royal family, not everyone seems to feel that way. Another source told Rob, “Earl Spencer knows every headline brings attention to Althorp. More interest in Diana’s resting place is ultimately good for the family estate.”
