Meghan Markle Was Reportedly So Rude to a Wedding Caterer That Queen Elizabeth Had To Take Over

It’s been seven years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walked down the aisle on May 19, 2018, and a new claim is shedding some unflattering light on their wedding planning process. Apparently, Meghan “berated” a caterer so badly that Queen Elizabeth had to step in before things got too out of hand … and if this truly happened, we can only imagine how upset she must have been!

As the Daily Mail reported on Monday, royal commentator Katie Nicholl wrote about the incident in her new book, The New Royals. We already know there was an intense situation between Meghan and Kate Middleton over the bridesmaids dresses, but if Katie’s intel is correct, that wasn’t the only issue that happened leading up to the big day.

“On one occasion in the run-up to the wedding, Meghan went to Windsor Castle for a menu-tasting and ended up having a tense exchange with a member of staff,” Katie writes in the book.

According to what a source told her, “Meghan was at the castle to taste some of the dishes, and told one of the caterers she could taste egg. She got quite upset, saying that the dish was meant to be vegan and macrobiotic.”

Once the Queen caught wind of what was going on, she reportedly put a stop to it right away.

“Suddenly the Queen walked in and said: ‘Meghan, in this family we don’t speak to people like that,’” the insider told Katie.

This isn’t the first time that Meghan has been accused of being difficult for palace staff to work with. In fact, as recently as September, someone claiming to be a former staff member told another royal author, Robert Lacey, that Meghan refused to “coddle” anyone. Instead, she chose to “govern with fear.”

We may never know the truth about what happened behind closed palace doors when Meghan was still a working royal, but this story certainly doesn’t help her look good.
