Days after Gwyneth Paltrow shared a video that people thought was shady toward Meghan Markle, the Goop queen is clearing the air. During an Instagram Q&A session, Gwyneth took the opportunity to address the rumors, but what her followers didn’t expect was for Meghan herself to make a surprise appearance in the video.
The drama started earlier this week, when Gwyneth shared a cooking video that showed how she prepares a “classic” breakfast of biscuits, eggs, and bacon. Fans instantly thought she was poking fun at Meghan and her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which revolves on cooking and entertaining.
“Love this. No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends just your beautiful true self. Such a breath of fresh air to see,” one commenter wrote.
But apparently, fans who believed that Gwyneth was mocking Meghan in this video were wrong – at least, according to Gwyneth herself.
When she answered fans’ questions on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, she responded to one that asked, “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you have?”
She responded in a video recorded from her kitchen. “I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever,” she said. “Do you understand this?”
Then, the camera pans to Meghan, who happens to be sitting at the table with her, eating a snack. She simply shrugged and took another bite of what appeared to be pie.
The cementing of Meghan’s friendship with Gwyneth comes just as she shared the trailer for her upcoming podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
“I’ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities, and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses,” Meghan shared on Instagram when she announced her podcast. “They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever. It has been absolutely eye-opening, inspiring … and fun!”
Because Gwyneth herself is the female founder of Goop, maybe she’ll be one of Meghan’s first guests? The podcast premieres on April 8, so we don’t have long to wait before we find out!
