The Duchess formerly known as Meghan Markle has been getting hate for years, and for some, that probably won’t stop any time soon. And yes, technically, she is still Duchess of Sussex, but Meghan and Prince Harry distancing themselves from the British Royal Family also caused the public to refer to Meghan by her former name rather than royal title.
When it comes to the continued hate from Meghan’s critics, though, some of her fiercest haters and trolls have seemingly tracked Meghan’s movements in the public over the years. So much so that many believe she has lied about some parts of her childhood to fit different narratives. A user on TikTok shared a video depicting different clips where Meghan talks about growing up in different ways each time, and it doesn’t look good for her.

The TikTok about Meghan’s alleged lies claims that “her backstory changes faster than the TikTok algorithm” and calls her a “total story chameleon.” Case in point: one clip from her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, shows her telling her celebrity guest, Mindy Kaling that she grew up with “a lot of fast food and also a lot of TV tray dinners.”
But then, there is a clip of Meghan on MasterChef Australia where the story changes.
In that clip, she explains, “I grew up in California, and so, as you know, we have incredible produce. So I think you just start to really love farm to table at an early age. My mom’s an incredible cook, and I grew up watching so many cooking shows.”
Someone quickly commented on the TikTok with, “Meghan has told so many lies she can’t remember them.”
Another added, “She switches the narrative to suit the audience and to gain the most sympathy or admiration.”
She has allegedly lied about her father before.

Once you’ve gone down the Meghan Markle liar rabbit hole, there is apparently no getting out. While some of her harshest critics have pointed out the alleged lies they see in her stories from her upbringing, others have accused her of, over the years, lying about her estranged father, Thomas Markle. In late 2025, The Sydney Morning Herald reported that, although Meghan publicly shared at the time that she visited her father following a leg amputation procedure, there was some doubt about whether or not she actually saw him.
At the time, Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, reportedly posted on X (formerly Twitter), “‘Houston’ there’s been no contact. Time to stop the PR bulls–t Medusa.”
Critics are actually keeping track of her alleged lies.
If it isn’t enough that there have been doubts about Meghan’s claims in the media, her critics have started compiling lists of her so-called lies. Really, there is no sleep for the Meghan haters, it seems. On a Reddit post about all of Meghan’s alleged lies, users shared what they believe to be inaccuracies with what Meghan has shared publicly.
“She said she worked her way through school,” one user commented. “Her father has produced the canceled checks showing that he paid every penny for her.”
The same Meghan hater added, “She claims to have given up her career in Hollywood for Harry. Really she had a supporting role on a cable series that most of America had never seen and those who had seen it were only vaguely aware of her. She was being written out of the series and was pushing 40. She needed a new gig.”
Obviously, Meghan does not respond to the claims from her haters, but they do keep on coming.
