Meghan McCain is pregnant! The former cohost of The View, 40, is expecting her third child with husband Ben Domenech. They are already parents to two daughters, Clover Jade and Liberty Sage.
Meghan revealed the big news while interviewing second lady Usha Vance for her podcast, 2Way’s Citizen McCain with Meghan McCain. The full interview airs on June 25, but Meghan posted a clip on YouTube in which she shares that she’s pregnant.
During the conversation, Meghan told Usha, “I wanted to let you in on something that’s private that I haven’t talked about publicly yet. I have two little girls. They are almost 5 and almost 3. And I just am entering my second trimester. I’m pregnant with my third.”
Usha responded, “That’s wonderful,” before Meghan got real about her concerns about this pregnancy.
“I’m very nervous about…it’s a boy. I’m very nervous about having a boy,” Meghan told Usha. “And I’m very nervous about having three children. Very.”
As the interview continued, Meghan asked Usha for advice about having three kids, because Usha is mom to two boys and a girl: Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. “I love having three kids,” the second lady shared. “I’m a huge proponent of it.”
Although Meghan is nervous about welcoming her third child, she knows what it’s like to be from a large family. Meghan is one of the late John McCain’s seven children. John McCain adopted his first wife’s two sons from a previous marriage before they welcomed a daughter together. When he married his second wife, they had three children and adopted another from Bangladesh.
As Meghan approaches the birth of her third baby, she’s looking for tips and advice from other moms of three. Usha had supportive words for her, explaining that the transition from two to three was “easiest of all.”
No matter how it goes once a third baby enters the McCain-Domenech family, I’m sure we’ll hear all about it on Meghan’s podcast.
