Meghan Trainor Thought She Miscarried Baby No. 2 After ‘Gushing Blood’ During Interview

When it comes to talking about sex, pregnancy, and parenting, Meghan Trainor is an open book. The "All About That Bass" singer isn't afraid to discuss the nitty-gritty details of bodily functions. The mom of two, however, recently opened up about a scary incident that happened when she was pregnant with Baby No. 2.

As a refresher, Meghan is married to former Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara. The couple wed in 2018 and welcomed their first child, a son they named Riley, in February 2021. Another son, Barry, arrived in July 2023 — but not without Meghan first thinking she miscarried early on in the pregnancy.

Recently, Meghan Trainor opened up about thinking she miscarried during her second pregnancy.

On the June 6 episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals, Meghan opened up about the miscarriage scare she experienced when pregnant with Barry. The same morning she got a positive pregnancy test, things suddenly took a turn.

“That morning I was, like, stoked, beaming with joy, I videotaped it," she recalled. "I did interviews, and they were like, ‘How are you?’ and I said, ‘I’m thriving.’ I was so happy.”

That's when she noticed she was 'gushing' blood.

The "Mother" songstress explained that right before an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she noticed she was "gushing blood," noting that she "ruined a chair."

Meghan shared, “I did that whole interview like, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry,’ and then got through it. I shut the computer and was like, ‘Hey team I think I’m miscarrying right now.'"

Further testing, however, revealed she was still pregnant.

“I went to the bathroom and saw what was happening, and I was like, alright I had a baby this morning, and now they’re gone," Meghan said during her Last Meals segment. “I was like I’m just gonna keep testing, and the pregnancy stick still said positive.”

Meghan received another surprise when she went in for what she thought was her six-week appointment.

During her six-week ultrasound, Meghan's doctor informed her that she was further along than she thought.

“At six weeks, I went in, and she goes, ‘Woah, that’s a 10-week-old baby,'” she recalled. “I was like, ‘I’ve been pregnant this whole time?!’ So I was pregnant ever since the Fallon performance.”

She described that early pregnancy experience as a 'roller coaster.'

“Roller coaster," Meghan declared. "Like, I told everyone in the household, ‘I’m pregnant!’ and then later, I was like, ‘I lost it.’ It was horrific and then amazing.”
