Meghan Trainor Weighs In On Mom Group Drama & Fans Say It Proves Ashley’s Point

If you’ve been following along with the celebrity mom group drama this week, you know it’s been a wild one for Ashley Tisdale‘s former circle of friends. After the High School Musical star published an essay in The Cut about her choice to walk away from a “toxic” group of moms, it’s become pretty obvious that other famous ladies were involved.

One of the moms, Meghan Trainor, has now decided to weigh in on the situation, but there’s one problem: Fans are convinced that she’s actually proving Ashley’s point and just fueling the drama.

Meghan shared a video of herself “finding out” about the mom group drama.

The video shows Meghan at her computer, wearing her glasses as she types on a keyboard and navigates a screen, sipping from a cup of coffee. The text over the video reads, “me finding out about the apparent mom group drama.” The whole time she’s reading the screen, she keeps a blank face, not showing much emotion at all.

She added her song, “Still Don’t Care,” as the audio for the video.

Commenters aren’t convinced this makes her look any better.

If Meghan thought this was going to be a funny, tongue-in-cheek video related to Ashley’s viral essay, it seems like she majorly miscalculated, according to the comments on the post. If anything, people are saying that this actually proves Ashley’s point that the drama among her former friends must have been very “high school.”

“Ashley, girl, I get what you mean now,” one person wrote.

“Unfortunately, this makes me side with Ashley,” another added.

Some believe that Meghan was well within her rights to respond, though: “Why is everyone dissing. Ashley made it public. They have a right to defend themselves.”

Meghan isn’t the only one who has spoken out.

Earlier this week, Hilary Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, made a cheeky reference to the story after fans discovered that Hilary may be part of the mom group that Ashley was writing about.

Sharing a photoshopped version of Ashley’s photo from The Cut that replaced her head with his own, he joked that his new essay, “When You’re the Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus to Their Actual Toddlers,” was now live.

Now that Meghan is also piping up about the drama, it seems like this isn’t going to just go away. Who’s going to speak out next?
