20 of the Most Epic Costar Reunions

It can be hard to say goodbye to our favorite TV shows when they're over. And with certain beloved movies, it's easy to feel like we've just lost a friend when the credits are rolling (especially the kind that we love to watch over and over that carry a good bit of nostalgia from our childhoods). That means that when former costars from these shows and movies get together, well, it's totally understandable that fans would lose it a little bit.

Of course, the biggest example of this is the Friends reunion that happened in May 2021 on HBO Max — something we never thought would actually materialize. And then, the cast of other movies and shows like The Parent Trap and One Tree Hill have also come together — whether it's for a good cause or just to hang out and catch up after not seeing each other for a while — and they always post photos together that make everyone go crazy.

Read on for the best costar reunions that have happened over the years. Fingers crossed that there are plenty more to come.

Chad Michael Murray & Hilarie Burton

It's been years since One Tree Hill aired new episodes, but who doesn't remember rooting for Lucas and Peyton to get together? Not too long ago, Hilarie Burton shared this throwback photo from when she and Chad Michael Murray ran into each other on vacation.

Rachel Bilson & Adam Brody

While we're on the topic of our favorite couples from teen dramas, here's Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, a former real-life and on-screen couple from The OC. Adam appeared on Rachel's podcast, Welcome to the OC, B——, and even though their reunion was via Zoom, it was still totally worth it.

The Cast of 'Never Been Kissed'

Drew Barrymore was joined by Molly Shannon, Michael Vartan, and David Arquette on her talk show for a Never Been Kissed reunion — and to make it even more fun, David showed up in full costume as his character from the movie, Rob. If only Drew had appeared as Josie! Fans went wild during one surprising moment when Michael admitted to having a bit of a crush on Drew while filming. Aww!

The Epic 'Friends' Reunion Special

Though we've seen Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow hang out a lot since Friends came to an end in 2004, the full cast reunion that fans had been waiting for finally materialized in May 2021. The gang got back together for a special on HBO Max, looking back on their time on the show and hanging out on a re-created version of the iconic set.

A 'Mad Men' Reunion

In the summer of 2021, three of the ladies of Mad Men got together to hang out again — and one of them has grown up quite a bit! Christina Hendricks and January Jones were joined by Kiernan Shipka, who played January's daughter, Sally Draper, in the series. "Coulda sat there all night, ladies. I missed you so," January wrote.

Meredith & McDreamy, Together Again

Season 17 of Grey's Anatomy brought a lot of old cast members back to the show for the first time in a long time, but it was hard to top this reunion. Fans got to see Meredith and Derek share scenes again after his tragic death in season 11, and actors Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey seemed happy to be together again too. (And we die-hard viewers realized just how much we missed having Derek Shepherd on our TV screens.)

A Spooky Get-Together

A Hocus Pocus sequel is already filming, but long before there were plans to bring the Sanderson sisters back to the screen, the cast was getting together on their own. In 2015, Omri Katz, Vinessa Shaw, and Thora Birch — who played Max, Allison, and Dani in the movie — thrilled fans when they shared this selfie.

Jennifer Garner & Mark Ruffalo

13 Going on 30 has found a place among the most beloved rom-coms of all time, so of course when Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo were able to spend time together in February 2021, fans were excited to see Jenna Rink and her BFF Matty together again.

"Wishing dust worked! And I got a perfect day with my old pal," Jennifer wrote when she shared this adorable photo.

Nina Dobrev & Kat Graham

Some of the Vampire Diaries cast have remained friends long after the show ended in 2017, and that includes Nina Dobrev and Kat Graham, who played Elena and Bonnie on the show. In June 2014, the ladies got together, sharing a selfie that caused fans to lose it in Nina's comments.

In A Walk to Remember, Mandy Moore and Shane West fell in love — even though their story had a tragic ending. Years later, when Mandy received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Shane was there to make a speech about her career. Too sweet!

The Cast of 'The Office'

When John Krasinski hosted a wedding on his YouTube talk show, Some Good News, in 2020, he enlisted the help of his former costars in celebrating the happy couple. Jenna Fischer, Steve Carell, Angela Kinsey, Mindy Kaling, Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartener, and BJ Novak were all on hand to reprise their dance from Jim and Pam's wedding.

The 'Parks and Rec' Reunion Special

Also in 2020, the cast of another beloved NBC comedy, Parks and Rec, came together to reunite at a time when people needed a little extra laughter most. The stars of the show, including Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Chris Pratt, created their own reunion entirely via Zoom.

'Back to the Future' (In the Actual Future)

In March 2020, Back to the Future franchise stars Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox were reunited at a charity poker game for Michael's foundation. It's been well over 30 years since the first movie in the series came out, but these two still seem like they're thick as thieves.

The Cast of 'Harry Potter'

After creating one of the most legendary film franchises ever, the cast of Harry Potter got together again in 2019 to pose for this epic photo. Emma Watson, Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, Bonnie Wright, and Matthew Lewis — all former Hogwarts students — are totally grown up now. All they were missing was Daniel Radcliffe.

The Cast of 'Parenthood'

It's no secret that the cast of Parenthood has stayed close since the show ended, but seeing some of the cast back together all at the same time is still really special. Here, Mae Whitman, Peter Krause, Lauren Graham, and Ray Romano all posed for a photo together.

Dawson & His Parents From 'Dawson's Creek'

We never thought we'd see all the Leerys back together again — partially because Dawson's Creek has been over for a long time, and partially because, well, we all know what happened to Dawson's dad. But here are Mary-Margaret Humes and John Wesley Shipp, coming together to cheer on their on-screen son, James Van Der Beek, when he competed on Dancing With the Stars in 2019.

Lisa Kudrow & Mira Sorvino

The cast of Friends aren't the only former costars that Lisa Kudrow has been catching up with. In September 2019, she ran into Mira Sorvino, her Romy and Michele's High School Reunion sidekick, which she called the "most thrilling moment for me at a party EVER!"

The 'Parent Trap' Reunion

In an effort to raise money for World Central Kitchen, the cast of The Parent Trap reunited via video chat in 2020 to talk about their experiences filming the movie. Stars including Lindsay Lohan, Dennis Quaid, and Elaine Hendrix were all on hand for the reunion, and so was director Nancy Meyers.

The Cast of 'The Wonder Years'

After starring in The Wonder Years as kids, these three are still friends in real life as adults. In 2019, Josh Saviano shared this selfie with former costars Fred Savage and Danica McKellar on Instagram, bringing Kevin, Winnie, and Paul back together again.

'The Mighty Ducks' Cast

In January 2019, some of the Mighty Ducks cast got together, including Danny Tamberelli and Kenan Thompson, and they wore their old uniforms. Swipe to see the pics — they even played a little hockey together like old times!
