Ms. Rachel Says All Billionaires Are ‘Gross’ & the Comment Section Exploded

Ms. Rachel recently used her platform to speak out against billionaires. The YouTube star and early childhood educator asserted that “no one needs a billion dollars,” and while many people agreed with her take and said it should not be considered radical in the slightest, others clearly had an issue with it. In a simple post, Ms. Rachel made her opinion clear: “No one needs a billion dollars. People need food. The end.” It didn’t exactly end there though, as Rachel also elaborated a bit in her caption, writing, “It’s gross that people have that much money.”

But critics commented on the post to claim that billionaires “earned” their money. “Why make people who have worked their whole life give it away???” one person questioned. Another critic added, “Why are we resorting to eat the rich mentalities?” Others skeptical of Ms. Rachel’s opinion even suggested that she, too, is wealthy, and therefore shouldn’t be criticizing the ultra wealthy. “A person making millions telling you what you shouldn’t earn. 🥱” one of them wrote.

In response to the backlash, Ms. Rachel commented on her own post to clarify that when it comes to her net worth, “anything you see online is totally made up.” She wrote, “I don’t own anything expensive except for a [$2,000] engagement ring from 10 years ago and give away tons of money like the million to World Food Program and so many other donations.” Then, she acknowledged that she’s “so privileged” but “grew up not being able to afford things.” She added, “When I moved to NYC I was so broke trying to make ends meet. My heart is with the poor.”

Fans told her that she didn’t need to explain herself. Lots of them agreed with her, and some even urged her to run for president. Several people asserted that there are “no ethical billionaires” and anyone with that amount of money should feel “ashamed.”

Besides, there is a significant difference between having $1 million and $1 billion, as many of her fans pointed out. On Instagram, people couldn’t understand why Ms. Rachel’s opinion was even controversial. “Such a simple concept shouldn’t be considered radical,” one of them commented.

“She is a 100000% right,” another fan wrote on Reddit. “Most people just want the basics… food, shelter, housing, education. It shouldn’t be so hard for them to obtain it. I’m sick of the selfishness and greed!!!”

While Ms. Rachel is known for creating content for kids, some of what she says really resonates with adults too. One fan pointed out that Ms. Rachel’s Instagram handle, @msrachelforlittles, suggests that she just makes content for kiddos — but we could all learn something from Ms. Rachel. “I know your handle is ‘msrachelforlittles’ but in reality, Ms. Rachel is for everyone. I love that for us,” they wrote.

On Reddit, another fan added that it’s “kind of sad us adults in the world need to learn the lessons of toddlers.”
