Ms. Rachel Responds After Troll Mocks Her for Taking Mental Health Medication

At this point, Ms. Rachel is used to receiving nasty comments on social media — unfortunately, that’s what happens sometimes when you’re outspoken about the hot button issues that you really care about.

And this time, after someone made a bold attempt to mock Rachel’s mental health, she fired back with the perfect response. What, are we all supposed to be ashamed that we struggle with something completely out of our control?

Ms. Rachel has posted a lot about the Michigan Democratic primary for senate this week.

Ms. Rachel — whose full name is Rachel Griffin Accurso — might have gotten her start as an overalls-wearing YouTuber who helps babies learn how to communicate, but on social media, she’s all about fighting for what she believes in politically, especially if children are involved.

After the Michigan Democratic primary for senate made headlines for Abdul El-Sayed’s victory over Haley Stevens, people who lean right haven’t been very happy about a progressive potentially winning the seat, and it has led to a lot of racist comments.

Rachel must have seen some of those comments firsthand, because she shared a photo on Instagram emphasizing the importance of pronouncing names correctly.

“Racism is not cool. Racism is not funny. Treating people differently because of their name, color of skin or where they were born is not ok,” she wrote.

She isn’t tolerating the hate she’s getting.

Unfortunately, Rachel’s seeming defense of Al-Sayed really grinded the gears of her followers, including some who (as always) took the time out of their day to attempt to say something insulting.

This time around, though, Rachel was able to respond.

After quoting a comment she received that said “Ms. Rachel forgot to take her meds.” She had the best reply, too, writing back, “No, I remembered. I have a daily pill organizer.”

You know what? Good for her for helping get rid fo the stigma around taking mental health medications. That shouldn’t be a dicussion in 2026, but since it is, it’s great to see people like Ms. Rcahel speaking up.

She added in her caption, “And there’s nothing wrong or shameful about taking meds for mental health. No need to stigmatize mental health or medication.”

She’s never seemed too concerned about what people think about her beliefs, though.

She shared as much in an Instagram post she published last week.

“I don’t care about backlash, I care about kids,” she wrote, adding, “I can tolerate backlash and so can you. What we can’t tolerate is children being bombed and starved.”

Great way to put it. That shouldn’t be controversial in the first place, but it’s good to know Rachel is prepared for any negativity that might be thrown her way (as if she doesn’t get enough already).
