What to Know
Fans who follow former Dance Moms coach Abby Lee Miller on social media know that this lady loves to use a filter on her photos from time to time, but that was news to one celebrity she met while visiting New York City this week.
After she shared an Instagram post of herself posing with the stars of Art on Broadway, fans couldn’t help but notice that Neil Patrick Harris has, unfortunately, fallen victim to her photo airbrushing … and now, the actor has some serious questions about it.
Abby shared the photos with Neil and his costars.
“If you truly want to LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! Then go see @artonbway,” Abby wrote in her caption. “With these incredible comedic actors @nph @j_corden and @bobby_cannavale On tv they are superstars, live on stage — their timing is impeccable, and in person afterward — such gracious kind gentlemen! Thank you for an incredible evening if NY Theater!”
While nothing odd stuck out about her pictures with James Corden and Bobby Cannavale, seeing Neil posing with Abby was a bit jarring, since his face had been completely brightened and airbrushed, and people immediately took notice, with more than one asking why NPH had been “yassified.”
Even the official Instagram account for the Facetune editing app left a comment, writing, “Abby let me proof read your post next time baby gorgeous.”
Neil did not hold back in his comment to Abby.
Neil himself commented on the post, wanting to know why he’d been so dramatically edited. “Ummm… what did you do to my face..?” he asked.
To her credit, Abby did reply with a explanation. She wrote, “10 rounds of invasive chemo & a big birthday — so I’m sticking with the filters! You sir — always look fabulous no matter what!!!”
It sounds like Neil just got caught in the crossfire of Abby’s filter in a way that James and Bobby didn’t. Oops!
Abby has been through a lot of changes since her Dance Moms days.
To be completely fair to Abby, she has been through a lot with her health and her body since she starred on Dance Moms. Not only did she fight (and beat) Burkitt lymphoma, which partially led to her becoming wheelchair bound, along with a spinal injury.
And then, there’s also the fact that Abby served nearly a year in prison after being convicted of bankruptcy fraud, so her life hasn’t exactly been a picnic in recent years.
Despite how NPH might feel about it, the photo remains up… and Abby seems to remain unapologetic about it. Hey, you do you, girl.
