The Best New Content Coming to Netflix in November 2021

We are so excited for November on Netflix! The streaming giant will be dropping tons of fresh content, including a bunch of originals, highly anticipated second seasons of hit shows, and best of all, lots of new Christmas movies. It is going to be a seriously cozy month, with plenty of great options to stream over Thanksgiving break, and some really fun new films and series to check out. It's probably the best Netflix lineup we've seen all year, especially since some shows and movies that were delayed in 2020 are finally coming out.

In November, brand-new Netflix original films starring huge names including Ryan Reynolds, Halle Berry, Tessa Thompson, and Dwayne Johnson will be dropping, along with some adorable animated films for the kids. Whether you're into action flicks, horror films, or cheesy holiday movies, Netflix definitely has you covered.

Of course, a number of awesome older movies are also headed to Netflix, but here, we're going to focus on movies that came out this year or late in 2020, as well as long-awaited sophomore seasons of newer shows that have garnered a lot of buzz. 'Gather'

Gather is an incredibly important documentary that came out in 2020. As we prepare for the Thanksgiving season, it will help us learn more about how Indigenous people are using ancestral foods to reclaim their spiritual and cultural identities. It takes a close look at the power of food and the deep impact of the centuries of genocide native people have endured.

'My Dad's Christmas Date'

Coming to Netflix: November 1

My Dad's Christmas Date, starring Jeremy Piven, Joely Richardson, and Olivia-Mai Barrett, is a classic holiday rom-com that came out late in 2020. It's the story of a teenager on a mission to set up her dad on a date during the holidays after her mother passes away. Both are struggling with their grief and to connect as father and daughter, but above all else, she still wants the best for her dad, and he for her.

'The Claus Family'

Coming to Netflix: November 1

Originally released on Netflix in Europe in 2020, the Dutch Christmas film The Claus Family will debut on the streamer's US platform this holiday season. It's a family-friendly film about a young boy who discovers that his grandfather is none other than Santa Claus — only problem is, Jules hates Christmas! There's already a sequel coming out overseas, so this one might end up being a holiday tradition.

'The Harder They Fall'

Coming to Netflix: November 3

One of the biggest Netflix releases of the year, The Harder They Fall features an all-star cast including Regina King, Idris Elba, Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors, and Atlanta's LaKeith Stanfield. It's a western about an outlaw who decides to get his old gang together after finding out his best friend has been released from prison.

'Love Hard'

Coming to Netflix: November 5

An offbeat Christmas romantic comedy, Love Hard stars Nina Dobrev and Darren Barnet. It tells the story of a woman looking for love, who travels thousands of miles across the country at Christmastime to meet a man she met on a dating app in real life, only to discover that she was catfished.

'Father Christmas Is Back'

Coming to Netflix: November 7

Father Christmas Is Back, starring Elizabeth Hurley and Kelsey Grammer, is the kind of Christmas movie you'll rewatch every year. It's about four sisters who don't get along with each other at all, but are forced to spend the holidays together when their father returns to the family's Yorkshire estate for Christmas.

'Gentefied' Season 2

Coming to Netflix: November 10

Backed by Superstore actor America Ferrera, who serves as a producer on the show, Gentefied is a Netflix original series about a Mexican-American family from Los Angeles. It primarily focuses on the Morales cousins as they try to find their own identities as first-generation Americans, while still honoring their family history. It was a huge hit when it premiered early in 2020, and season two was delayed because of the health crisis, but it's finally here!

'Passing'

Coming to Netflix: November 10

Passing is a new original film starring Creed's Tessa Thompson and Loving's Ruth Negga. It's the deeply moving story of two childhood friends who reunite as adults in 1920s New York, and discover that each has chosen a different path for their lives — one passes as white in her middle class neighborhood, and the other lives as a well-off Black woman.

'A Boy Called Christmas'

Coming to Netflix: November 11

Adapted from the book of the same name by author Matt Haig, A Boy Called Christmas is the story of a young boy named Nikolas searching for his father whom he believes has set out on a hunt for the fabled village of Elfhem, where Nikolas eventually discovers exactly what the future has in store for him. It's a perfect Christmas movie to watch with the whole family!

'Red Notice'

Coming to Netflix: November 12

Starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, Red Notice is another new Netflix original film. It's an action movie about an FBI agent who responds to an Interpol warrant that's put out on an art thief, eventually embedding himself in a high-stakes heist. Think 007, but with lots of comedy.

'Tiger King' Season 2

Coming to Netflix: November 17

That's right, it's happening — and it's happening soon. Netflix is bringing audiences a second season of the docuseries Tiger King, which of course chronicles the shady lives of big cat enthusiasts Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin, including their irreconcilable feud, and the various crimes associated with each of them.

'The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star'

Coming to Netflix: November 18

What else can they do with this franchise? We don't know, but we'll definitely be watching the third installment of The Princess Switch, one of Netflix's original Christmas movie series. The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star will once again see actor Vanessa Hudgens playing dual roles. Wait, make that three roles! In this film, the royal doppelgängers will team up with another look-alike to track down a Christmas relic that's been stolen.

'Blown Away: Christmas'

Coming to Netflix: November 19

We love a good reality competition series, especially one that actually involves talent, and of course, making it Christmas themed only adds to the appeal. On Blown Away: Christmas, five glass blowers will compete for a cash prize by creating incredible holiday-inspired works of art.

'Cowboy Bebop'

Coming to Netflix: November 19

Anime fans have been anxiously awaiting Netflix's live-action adaptation of the popular animated series for quite some time now. The new series will star John Cho and Daniella Pineda, and chronicle the adventures of a group of interplanetary bounty hunters as they track down various criminals in exchange for a hefty payout.

'Extinct'

Coming to Netflix: November 19

Extinct is a new Netflix original animated movie that looks to be a super-cute watch for little ones. It's about two creatures from the Galápagos Islands who accidentally end up time traveling and land in present-day Shanghai, where they must figure out how to navigate an entirely new world together.

'Hellbound'

Coming to Netflix: November 19

Hot on the heels of the success of Squid Game, Hellbound is another Korean drama series that is sure to capture the attention of audiences worldwide. The series is about people who find out exactly when they are going to die, and when that time comes, they are faced with death angels who appear with the intention to carry out the deed.

'Tick, Tick … Boom!'

Coming to Netflix: November 19

Starring Andrew Garfield and directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tick, Tick … Boom! is the long-awaited film adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name. It's about an up-and-coming New York City theater composer who finds himself questioning his career path as he approaches his 30th birthday.

'Jonas Brothers Family Roast'

Coming to Netflix: November 23

Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas are joining up for a Netflix comedy special just in time for some fun family Thanksgiving viewing. Hosted by Saturday Night Live's Kenan Thompson and featuring appearances by Pete Davidson and Niall Horan, among others, it will be a variety show of sorts in which the Jo Bros will perform, act in comedy skits, and more.

'Waffles + Mochi's Holiday Feast'

Another fun family special coming to Netflix in November is Michelle Obama's Waffles + Mochi's Holiday Feast. All the adorable puppets that debuted in the original series earlier this year will return to explore the fascinating world of frozen foods and enjoy a big holiday meal together.

'Bruised'

Coming to Netflix: November 24

We'll see Halle Berry on-screen for the first time in a while in the new Netflix original film Bruised. She plays a former MMA fighter who has lost nearly everything. When the son she abandoned reenters her life, she has fresh motivation to get back on track and rebuild not just her career, but her reputation.

'Robin Robin'

Coming to Netflix: November 24

Netflix's Robin Robin is another fun one to put on for the kids over Thanksgiving break. It's a stop-motion short about a bird going through an identity crisis because she was raised by mice and is unsure of where she fits into the world. Like any mouse worth her salt, she decides that if she can pull off a major heist, she'll prove she belongs in her mouse family.

'A Castle for Christmas'

It's a tradition in our house to start watching Christmas movies right after Thanksgiving is over, so we're really looking forward to watching A Castle for Christmas on Black Friday. Starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes, it looks like a cheesy and probably predictable, but oh-so-wonderful rom-com about an author who travels to Scotland over the holidays and decides to buy a castle.

'Coming Home in the Dark'

Coming Home in the Dark is a new horror film about a teacher who is trying to put his disturbing past behind him, but while on a road trip, he and his family are terrorized by drifters. They initially think they were randomly targeted, but eventually learn there's a connection to the past at play.
