Nikki filed for divorce on Wednesday.

According to court documents obtained by People, Nikki filed on September 11 in Napa Valley, California. Earlier that same day, the magazine reported that Nikki had hired a divorce attorney.

Following Artem's arrest, Nikki had been spotted boarding a flight without her wedding ring, as E! Online reported.

Artem was arrested on August 29.

He was booked into Napa County Jail on a charge of corporal injury to spouse and was released on a $25,000 bail one hour later.

"This is a private matter and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time," Nikki's rep said in a statement to People after Artem's arrest.

One of Artem's 'DWTS' partners spoke out this week about his 'intense' attitude.

While appearing on Cheryl Burke's Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast this week, Lea Thompson said it wasn't easy to be paired up with Artem on his first season of DWTS, admitting that some of the things he said to her were "very difficult" for her to cope with.

"I remember once he was really mad at me because I was counting crazy," she said. "He was like, 'Why are you counting like that?' And I was like, what?"

The couple celebrated their second anniversary three days before Artem's arrest.

Sharing a video of different moments from their relationship on Instagram, Nikki wrote that the song "Can't Help Falling in Love" was "our love story."

"I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on," she wrote. "And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be."

Artem's most recent Instagram post is also a tribute to Nikki for their anniversary.

Alongside photos taken at Nikki and Artem's wedding, he wrote in the post, "Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life with out you. You are my everything."

So far, the former couple has yet to speak out about Nikki's divorce filing.
