Nikki Glaser Guest-Judged ‘American Idol’ & Fans Are Convinced Carrie Underwood Can’t Stand Her

Celebrity feuds will never not be interesting to fans, because who doesn’t love some messiness between celebrities? Stars, they’re just like us. Petty, easily offended, and annoyed by each other for no good reason. That being said, people think there is actually meat to Carrie Underwood and Nikki Glaser‘s alleged feud, but that’s a little harder to decipher than more more obvious feuds between celebrities.

Carrie actually addressed the feud on Sirius XM’s Highway Mornings with Cody Alan to clear up where the two women stand. It all began when Nikki appeared on American Idol as a guest judge and viewers speculated on Carrie’s reaction to a new female judge on the panel, even though Nikki’s appearance was short-lived.

People really think the women have unresolved beef.

After people began speculating on the so-called grid, Carrie went on the Sirius XM show Highway Mornings with Cody Alan and talked about Nikki. It’s not like anyone expected her to spill some tea and admit to hating the comedian, but still, she did clear the air and address the rumors, seemingly once and for all. Per Daily Mail, a fan commented on Facebook that they got a “cold vibe” from Carrie towards Nikki.

“I think she did such a great job because it’s not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say,” Carrie said on the show. “And, I don’t know, I feel like she did everything wonderfully. But no, there’s no beef. I have no beef.”

However, for some people, Carrie just can’t stand Nikki, regardless of what she said on the Sirius XM show. Until both women prove otherwise, chances are, people are going to keep talking.

One reason people might assume Carrie and Nikki have some kind of feud going is because of the alleged side-eyes that Carrie gave Nikki during her episode during Taylor Swift night on American Idol. But it could also be the comparisons from fans on social media.

On a Reddit thread about Nikki joining as a guest judge, a user wrote, “I didn’t realize how complacent the judges were until I saw Nikki bringing up a previous video package where Hannah [Harper] mentioned online bullies. The other three seem to say the same thing every week. I was like whoa, someone on this panel is paying attention?”

To that, someone responded, “Carrie is not fun as a judge.”

They probably aren’t BFFs though.

No matter what Carrie or Nikki say about their appearance on American Idol together, people are going to talk. There is something so much quicker about two female stars hating each other rather than becoming instant besties. Hey I don’t make the rules.

On another Reddit post about Carrie as a judge on American Idol, fans blasted her for possibly influencing music on the show as “too Christian,” given her own background. This, compared to how viewers saw Nikki during her episode, may have prompted some fans to assume the pair do not get along.

“Carrie’s personality is nothing like Katy Perry,” a Redditor noted, comparing Carrie to a past judge.” She’s far too bland, and I did not enjoy her commentary much. I love Carrie’s music, but she added nothing worthwhile by being a judge…”

Carrie and Nikki don’t run in the same celebrity circles.

Chances are, Nikki and Carrie probably won’t organically run into each other outside of TV appearances. People have said that Carrie is sort of a MAGA Barbie at this point, from her makeup style to the fact that she performed at Donald Trump’s 2026 inauguration. Nikki, as a comedian and entertainer, is a bit edgier than the American Idol alum and judge.

Maybe they don’t hate each other, or they refuse to admit it. Either way, the feud seems to be a non-starter at this point. Unless Nikki makes another guest appearance on American Idol, there’s little chance of the rumor taking off more than it has.
