Even after his long career, his newest show, The Pitt, has brought Noah Wyle a new influx of fans, but some don’t seem very happy with the actor right now. After one fan admitted that they were “very bummed” to hear about some of Noah’s political beliefs, he attempted to defend himself in the comments, and it really did not go the way he thought it would.
It all started when a fan posted about Noah and his new medical drama.
On Instagram, writer Lina Dune dedicated a post to Noah and The Pitt… and then added an edit after fellow fans in the comments pointed out that the 54-year-old actor
“This was all based on the character and not the man!!” she wrote in her edit to the caption. “Very bummed to hear about the bad behavior and zionism!!! boooooo!”
Noah became the subject of controversy in 2017, when his former ER costar Vanessa Marquez accused of him of lobbing “racial slurs” against her on set, among other members of the cast. And after Noah showed his support for Israel amid the country’s conflict with Palestine, some have labeled him a “Zionist.”
Noah replied with a comment of his own.
His comment on the post was simple — he wrote “Ha! What bad behavior?” — but people did not hesitate to reply to him, lighting him up with dozens of comments of their own.
It seems like Noah is probably regretting his decision to comment in the first place by now…
Now, Noah is getting torn to shreds.
As fans on Reddit pointed out, people are really taking Noah to task over his past transgressions after he attempted to be a bit snarky on a post that brought up his history. Though a few people did come to his defense, most of the commenters were doing the exact opposite.
“Is there something funny abt zionism, an ideology that has left thousands of Palestinians dead, half of them being children?” one commenter asked.
Another posted, “the zionism, the misogyny, the racism, the weird obsession you have with George Clooney being more famous than you is pretty embarrassing I could provide receipts!”
So far, Noah hasn’t responded to any of this round of backlash, but there’s still plenty of time for that to happen. Let’s just hope that if he does, he doesn’t end up digging the hole any deeper.
