What to Know
Now that she’s 12 years old and on the brink of her teenage years, Kim Kardashian‘s daughter, North West, is coming into her own when it comes to her style and the way she wants to present herself to the world. And in the process, she and her famous mom have received a lot of criticism — particularly about her controversial finger piercing.
But now, North is clapping back at the haters in a TikTok video, and honestly? She’s never reminded us of her mom more.
North shared a video aimed at anyone who’s upset about her piercing.

Earlier this week, North posted a video on the TikTok account she shares with her mom, lip synching to audio that says, “Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.”
On the video, North wrote, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”
Yeah, she definitely gets that attitude from her mom!
There has been a lot of debate online about North’s style.
When people first realized that North had a dermal piercing on her finger, the reactions ranged from appalled to concerned that she was going to end up with an infection.
“Kim and Kanye are failing as parents. No responsible parent would let their 12yo child do this,” one naysayer wrote on Reddit at the time.
Clearly, North has seen the comments, so it’s no wonder she feels a certain type of way about them.
Kim has spoken out about the criticism North has been getting recently.
During Kim’s October appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she did admit that sometimes she’s let North wear outfits that she only realized may not have been totally age appropriate in hindsight.
“I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she said. “As a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”
But in the end, it sounds like she’s proud of the style that North is developing — and the confidence she has in herself that allows her to block the online trolls out.
“She’s really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that,” Kim said. “She’s really confident and is like, ‘I probably wouldn’t be hanging out with those people.'”
Good for North for having such a strong sense of self, even at a young age!
