Remember when Donald Trump made jokes about wanting to get into Heaven and then made more comments about it? Yeah, how could any of us forget? Now, however, he has apparently come to terms with the possibility of not getting into Heaven after all in the event of his death. When he spoke to reporters as he boarded Air Force One on October 12, 2025, he admitted to being a little cheeky with his former comments about Heaven.
Per a CBS News clip that was posted on TikTok, Trump says he is “being a little cute” when he talks about trying to get into Heaven. He also admits that he might not actually get in, though he doesn’t elaborate on why he suddenly believes his spot in Heaven is no longer available when he dies. If his previous comments about wanting to get into Heaven weren’t out of pocket enough for his critics, they now have more fodder to work with.
Trump’s comments about getting into Heaven hold a little less weight now.
@cbsnews “I’m not, maybe, heaven-bound,” President Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One when asked whether his role in helping to broker a Israel-Hamas peace deal would secure his place in the afterlife. "I'm being a little cute," the president said. "I don't think there's anything going to get me in heaven, OK? I really don't. I think I'm not, maybe, heaven-bound." #trump #news #israel #gaza ♬ original sound – cbsnews
In August 2025, Trump said on Fox & Friends that he would like to get into Heaven “if possible,” per The New York Times. He said at the time, “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.” In September 2025, a leaked email surfaced on social media wherein Trump asked for donations from supporters and said he wanted to get into Heaven.
Now, however, his new comments about Heaven tell a different story.
“I’m being a little cute,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One. “I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in Heaven, OK? I really don’t. I think I’m not, maybe, Heaven-bound.”
It’s not clear what prompted this moment of raw self-reflection, but one person commented on the CBS News TikTok to give their explanation.
“A lot of dementia patients have moments of clarity where they realize how they lived and certain things they did were awful,” the person shared.

There has not been confirmation from a healthcare professional who treats Trump that he was diagnosed with dementia. Given his advanced age, however, and his sometimes rambling answers with the press, there is a theory among many that Trump secretly lives with dementia or a similar diagnosis.
Someone else commented on the clip to more seriously point out where they believe Trump is lacking and why they think he won’t be getting an invite to the pearly gates.
“Bro just crashed the economy, Alaska is being swept away, immigrants are being kidnapped, the National Guard is attacking cities, there was yet another mass shooting, and the country is collectively losing our minds,” the person wrote.
Other users commented to claim that Trump is deliberately “mocking” Christian voters who have supported him throughout his second presidency. But maybe one thing we can all agree on is that we are collectively tired of hearing Trump talk about Heaven, period.
