It’s been over a year since Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s alleged affair with former New York Magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi came to light, but it sounds like Olivia’s not ready to move on just yet. When the publication first learned of her “personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign,” Olivia was placed on leave from her position. She and the magazine later decided to “part ways.” Her relationship with her then-fiancé, Ryan Lizza, also ended as a result of the alleged sexting scandal.
Meanwhile, RFK Jr. seemed to make it out relatively unscathed. He’s still married to his wife, Cheryl Hines, and was selected by President Donald Trump to oversee the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. However, Olivia is reportedly working on a memoir, and it might end up doing some damage to his career and his marriage.
The memoir is said to include ‘sexually charged’ texts.
Olivia has said that the relationship “was never physical,” but that doesn’t mean their interactions were innocent in nature. Oliva’s ex has claimed that RFK Jr. sent her texts saying he wanted to “possess” and “impregnate” her. And sources told RadarOnline that the sexting scandal involved more than just flirtatious messages — it allegedly included FaceTime sex sessions as well, though this was never confirmed.
Regardless, Olivia is reportedly working on a memoir that should clear up some of the details, which might not be super great for RFK Jr.’s marriage, according to a report from Page Six.
Sources are actually worried for him.
Though Olivia’s memoir has not yet been publicized (it first came to light via Oliver Darcy’s Status newsletter), sources familiar with the project told Page Six that “it’s hard to imagine RFK surviving this with his marriage and job intact.” Yikes.
According to the publication, the book is called American Canto and will include more information about Olivia’s career and personal life (beyond the RFK Jr. scandal). But still, it’s apparently not looking good for him, as the book is said to contain “bombshell details.”
At the same time, Cheryl hasn’t left RFK Jr. yet.
While the Page Six insider seems pretty confident that Olivia’s book could destroy RFK Jr.’s marriage, Cheryl has appeared relatively unbothered by her husband’s numerous controversies. When questioned about the Olivia Nuzzi affair during a Wall Street Journal interview, Cheryl declined to comment and said there’s no point in “going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it.”
