Another day, another fecal accident on TV for Donald Trump. Well, maybe. When he spoke to the press at the G7 Summit in France in June 2026, it was kind of hard to listen to or remember what he had to say. That’s because, in a video posted on X, you can hear the distinct sound of passing gas. But, uh, did Trump actually fart on-camera at that moment?
In the clip on X, it certainly sounds that way. It’s also not a surprising idea, since Trump has been caught making other weirdly specific and gross sounds while speaking to the press before. He also isn’t the only member of his administration who has been seen or heard emitting sounds of bodily function. And after the clip was posted on social media, people weighed in.
That sound on-camera has to have come from Donald Trump.

In the clip from Trump’s speech at the G7 event, he starts to go into his claims about the 2020 election being rigged. That’s when you can hear what sounds like a fart. Or, at the very least, the sound of a plastic or leather chair moving. But do you see any chairs on-stage with Trump, Howard Lutnick, and Marco Rubio? Yeah, neither do I.
Someone on X joked, “That horrible sound seems to be a regular occurrence as soon as he opens his mouth.”
Others commented about Rubio’s facial expression allegedly showing that he knows Trump broke wind in the middle of his speech. Someone even shared a screenshot of Rubio in the moment and wrote, “Marco: ‘I’m NOT changing him again’ face.”
“Did he seriously babble about rigged elections whilst s–tting himself on stage at the G7?” Another user commented on the X post. “JFC, enough of his crap (!) already.”
Someone else wrote, “Mother of Pearl!! Trump is soiling and farting in every single meeting he holds these days. Is it his medication or what?”
The Trump Administration has had other mysterious on-camera noises.
There was also a time weeks before this particular incident where it appeared that Pete Hegseth also farted live on-camera. The moment was shared across social media, including on Instagram. And, at the time, there were some jokes at his expense about not being able to hold in his flatulence.
People began calling Hegseth the “Secretary of Fart” and one user in the comments joked that Hegseth is part of the “deFARTment of security.” No one is really faulting any of these politicians for possibly farting. But when this has never happened before, but seems to be a regular occurrence with the Trump Administration, at some point, it’s hard to just ignore.
At the time, someone even commented on the Instagram post with, “Hagseth, the whole world heard that. Next time make sure you go to the toilet before coming up on the stage.”
There was also the time people thought Trump pooped his pants.
In this particular situation, the question is not only if it was a fart heard on-camera, but also if it’s something more. Because there is another time when people were pretty sure that Trump defecated himself while on-camera in the Oval Office. In January 2026, after signing an executive order, he asked the press to leave the office.
But in the clip that Forbes posted on YouTube, you can hear something through one of the mics.
“the fact that it got picked up by the mics, while someone was talking, means it must have been DISTRESSINGLY LOUD in person,” a user on YouTube noted. “Everyone in that room knows what they heard.”
